Steven “Steve” Potter

Steven “Steve” Potter, age 64, of Delaware County, PA, passed away at his home May 11, 2017. He was born September 24, 1952, in Drexel Hill, PA, to George and Kathryn (Hitchens) Potter.

Steve graduated from Marple Newton Senior High in 1970, and then went on to work at Rose Tree Park where he met his first wife, Deborah Rice. They were married October 27, 1979. Shortly after, he began working at Terminix. They welcomed Kyle in 1982 and Kelly in 1984. On May 16, 1996, Steve met his current wife, Jennifer Bush, and daughter, Leahia Bush.

In 1999, he started working for Pest Control Technicians, Inc., and during his time there he and Jennifer were married on September 27, 2003. Steve, Jennifer and Leahia moved to Rockwall, TX, in July 2005. Steve began working at Blue Green Resorts in 2006, and in 2012, he began working at First United Methodist Church in Rockwall. Steve was actively involved in golf and fishing. He enjoyed watching Penn State football and spending time with his dogs.

Steve is survived by his loving wife: Jennifer Potter; daughters: Kyle Ramsey and husband Jacob, Kelly Potter and Leahia Bush; grandchildren: Jaxson and Trevor Ramsey; sister: Kathy Lanciano and husband Fred; and brother: George Potter and wife Chris; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Kathryn (Cass) Potter.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00am Saturday, May 20, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 1200 E Yellow Jacket Ln., Rockwall 75087 with Dr. Joe Pool officiating.
