1. Robert DeNiro’s film festival brought this Manhattan neighborhood to the fore, and even though its south of Canal, it’s really more of a trapezoid. 2. Not to be confused with the Roman Polanski film, New York has numerous ethnic enclaves that go by this title, but the most famous is where Canal and Mott streets intersect in Lower Manhattan. 5. The two neighborhoods that comprise Manhattan Community Board 4 also make up a former First Daughter, although her given name supposedly came from a Joni Mitchell song and not this West Side ‘hood. 7.
