Davis sparks MBI to season-opening win over Kistler-Tiffany

The West Laurel/Springfiel­d Boys Basketball League tipped off in earnest Monday night with six games.

The most exciting battle was between MBI and Kistler-Tiffany. Led by Taj Davis’s 11-point performanc­e, MBI claimed a 38-33 victory in a Senior Division contest.

T.C. Cobb netted the other guys.

In another Senior game: OLIVER PLUMBING 40, MCGARRIGLE AUTOMOTIVE 28 » Sean Lee poured in 11 points to pace the winners. Brandon Henthill tossed in a teamhigh nine points for the losing squad.

In Intermedia­te Division action: 10 points for BELLA ROMA 35, NIRVANA 27 » The Havertown rivals made an interestin­g opening night matchup. Will Hulea scored 10 points and six points for Bella Roma. Kevin Reavey pumped in a game-high 12 points in the losing cause. ROCKPORT CONSTRUCTI­ON 27, FALCONE & TRUMAN 19 » Rockport leaned on the talents of Steven Tansey, who netted a gamehigh 10 points. You can’t see Noah Cina, but he led the Falcone & Truman guys with seven points.

In Junior Division play: MCKEON ALL-STAR 27, ALL BALL 16 » You may say he’s a dreamer, but Jake Lennon definitely is a baller, leading the way for McKeon with 12 points. Cole D’Ambrosio netted six points in defeat. CREATIVE FINANCE 21, A&A CUSTOM SIGNS 14 » Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale about Colin Gilligan, who scored seven points in the win. Logan McBride (five points) played well for A&A.
