Ruth A. Alexander

Ruth A. Alexander, age 88 of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, formerly of Folcroft entered heaven’s gates on June 4, 2017.

Born and raised in Colwyn, Ruth graduated Sharon Hill High School in 1946. She worked for Curtis Publishing but is well known for her secretarial duties for many years at Delcroft Elementary School in Folcroft. However, by far, her primary occupation and commitment was caring for her husband and two boys. While in Folcroft Ruth faithfully served her Lord at the Folcroft Union Church as a deaconess, member of the choir, leader in the Pioneer Girl and AWANA Girls clubs, a member of the Ladies AWHO Class and Women’s Missionary Fellowship. In 2011 Ruth and Charles moved to Garden Spot Village where she continued to serve Jesus by using her gifts of encouragement with more people than can be counted. She finished the race well and because of her faith in Jesus she has entered into His presence for all eternity.

Ruth is the daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes Kilian and widow of Charles A. Alexander who died in 2014 after 64 years of marriage. She is the mother of Drew (Pat) Alexander and Dean (Cindy) Alexander; grandmother of Kristin (Ben) Trump, Heather (Chris) Ermel and Josh (Lauren) Alexander; sister of Mildred Revell, Beatrice Garrity and the late Helen Clark.

Everyone is welcome to join the family as they proudly celebrate and remember a woman that lived out her commitment to love God and serve others. Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 14th at 4pm at the Folcroft Union Church, 500 Primos Ave., Folcroft, PA 19032. Family will take time after the service for visitation and a bite to eat.

As a way to acknowledge the continual, dedicated, loving care of the Garden Spot staff toward their residents, contributions are requested in Ruth’s memory to the Garden Spot Village Benevolence Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557.
