WHAT A TREAT

I would just like to thank the person who paid for my breakfast at the Penn Pines Diner at Providence and Springfield. I was sick, on my way to the hospital, and had to eat. I didn’t have any money and this kind-hearted person paid for my breakfast. I will return the favor. Thank you and have a blessed day. CLIFTON HEIGHTS

HOW LOW CAN THEY GO?

I was reading the article this week “Bill to rein in Pa. pension benefits is on fast track.” They talk about the teachers and all the people that work for the state. I don’t seem to see anywhere in this article that they’re considering lowering the legislators’ benefits. If they want to set a good example they could lower their benefits. This should also lower the moaning and groaning from the teachers and public employees. If they lower their own benefits then they could stand there and say, “Hey, we did it for us. Now we’ve got to do it for you to get the state’s budget in hand.” But it’s always “do as I say, not as I do.” It’s always “you’ve got to take away from you folks.” Yes, we’re all equal, but if you’ve got money and/or hold elected office, you’re just a little more equal than the rest of us. MR. STATUS QUO

ALL FOR ONE

I like to see the news media do a little more to push the issue that the politicians should have the same medical coverage as their constituents. I think you’ll see the health care issue resolved more steadily. It will be a bipartisan effort. Give them the same coverage with the same co-pays as their constituents. Let them experience the same thing as us and it’ll get resolved.

TAX THE CHURCHES

If a church houses anyone, it becomes a boarding house and should be taxed just like any other boarding house. JUST WONDERING DAN

EMPTY NESTERS

“Elevating Sound Off” thinks that right-wingers praising Donald Trump is elevating Sound Off. Just because you praise Donald Trump doesn’t mean you have a brain in your head; in fact, it means just the opposite.

R.I.P. GREG ALLMAN

I’m surprised with all the Allman Brothers band fans in Delaware County I didn’t read any Sound Offs about the passing of Gregg Allman. If it wasn’t for Gregg and Duane Allman, there never would’ve been a Lynyrd Skynyrd or a Marshall Tucker Band. Rest easy, Gregg. ALLMAN BROTHERS FAN IN ALDAN

SO SORRY

“Sharon From Sharon Hill” praises Donald Trump because he didn’t go over to Europe and apologize for American actions like Barack Obama did. Well, when our country does something that should be apologized for, we should apologize for it. But idiots right-wingers like you think we never ever do anything that we should apologize for, and that is the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever heard in my entire life. Everybody does something that they should apologize for every now and then.

AND THEN THERE’S BENGHAZI

“Gerrie From Wallingford” is bringing up Hillary winning the popular vote by 2.9 million. Well, if you take out two counties in California and four out of the five boroughs of New York City (Staten Island kept it from being a shutout), that lead and then some disappears. Look at the joke of a city government in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Are the people who willfully live under that kind of leadership the people you want deciding a presidential election? And before you go complaining about the Electoral College, don’t forgot that Democrats nowadays have an automatic onethird of the electoral votes needed just from California and New York, so I’m not buying that the system hurt Hillary’s chances.

A SORRY STATE OF AFFAIRS

I have never seen our country in chaos until this election with Trump in there. I want to know when they are going to impeach him. This country has got to get it straightened up because I’ll tell you something – I am 68 years old and I have never seen the country in this way that it is. BINGO, BOOTHWYN
