GOOD OLD DAYS

Does anybody remember a show on Channel 3 called “Summer Time on the Pier?” I think Ed Hurst and Joe Grady brought it on in the afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. It was a great show. I wish they would run shows like that back again. They used to have a dive diving horse at Steel Pier. It was the good old days and the great days. Too bad they can’t bring a TV show like that back again from Atlantic City. BLAST FROM THE PAST

ORGANIC CRAP

You know the food business is just brainwashing people, forcing all this organic food and all this other special kind of nonsense. We never had this stuff in the old days. We ate good regular food. My dad ate canned goods and everything and he lived to be 95, and my mom lived to be almost 82. So come on, let’s get with it. This is another rip off in society – organic foods and all this stuff. It’s for wimps.

OVERHEATED

I saw this week they were sending kids home early because of the heat. When we went to school we didn’t have air conditioning. We didn’t have any of that. We went to school and we finished school. So this tells you what kind of next generation will be running America.

DOPE-Y JUSTICE

I was just wondering: If a drunk driver gets involved in an accident and kills someone they’re charged with some type of involuntary manslaughter or vehicular homicide, depending on the state or situation. Why is it that when you catch a drug dealer selling opioids, how come they’re not charged with involuntary manslaughter at the very least, if not homicide. They know the drugs kill and they’re selling them. I was just wondering if anybody else thought of that. If you’re drunk and you kill somebody on the road, you’re going to jail. If you’re a drug dealer and the people die from the drugs that you’re selling, you get some time and that’s it – assuming you can’t plea bargain even lower. MAGIC MIKE FROM HAVERTOWN

ISN’T IT RICH

I’d like to know why these people call workers “unskilled.” Everybody is not unskilled. Everybody knows what to do. I had a job. I’ve unloaded trucks for years and I was still person that could stock houses and stuff. These other people – big rich ones – sit in their big airconditioned offices and make millions and millions of dollars. They don’t do nothing for nobody but get rich, and try to ruin the middle class and the poor’s lives. I’m tired of their so-called skillful ways. For me they’re nothing but a bunch of lazy, fat hogs.

FEELING RATTLED

Can someone tell me when they’re going to re pave Academy Avenue from South Avenue all the way up to Amosland Road? It’s like a scrub board. My dentures rattle every time I go down there. I’d appreciate it. CONCERNED MOTORIST

NO BULL

I’ll ask again: Why do we call the place where relief pitchers warm up during a game the bullpen? JEANETTE G.

GUNNING FOR EXPLANATION

So the president says that the perpetrators in the London Bridge attack did not use guns to kill all those people, then we have four mass shootings in this country in the coming weeks. Did he say this to somehow avoid scaring the American people, or was the NRA telling him what to say?

TOM-FOOLERY

I see “Mr. Tom In Linwood” was in Sound Off again this week. Since you have so much time to keep Sound Off, why don’t you volunteer your time with some worthy organization or do something to help people instead of having your name in the paper every day. Every time I see your name in the paper I want to throw up. So grow up, “Mr. Tom In Linwood.”

THE WHOLE TRUTH

When Donald Trump said he was 100 percent willing to testify under oath, he meant he was willing 100 percent to lie under oath. He is incapable of telling the truth. As a matter fact, the only people who think that he does tell the truth are the fools who support him, and these people wouldn’t know the truth from a lie if their life depended on it.
