Radnor High School says goodbye to 322 graduates
Graduates to attend 121 different educational institutions
PHILADELPHIA » Members of the Radnor High School Class of 2017 celebrated the end of their high school journey and the beginning of the next chapter of their lives at commencement June 7, said Allison Gangl, a spokeswoman for the district.
Family and friends filled the Liacouras Center at Temple University to celebrate the class’ graduates. This year’s keynote address was delivered by Mubarak Lawrence, a 2006 graduate of RHS and founder of Rising Community Enterprises LLC. Other speakers included Superintendent Kenneth Batchelor, executive director of student affairs Matthew Palmer, class president Anna Duffy, valedictorian Iris Wang and salutatorian Jessica Pevner. Senior Emily Han performed “The Star Spangled Banner” and the Class of 2017 Meistersingers closed the ceremony with Radnor High School’s alma mater. Members of the RHS concert band and orchestra also performed.
The 322 graduates plan to attend 121 different educational institutions, with the most going to Penn State followed by Temple University. Thirteen graduates plan to attend Ivy League schools and two are joining the U.S. Armed Forces, one Army, one Navy. The class includes three sets of twins and one set of triplets.
