Rosalie G. Sarno

Rosalie G. Sarno (nee Genovese), 95, of Glen Mills, formerly of Havertown, PA passed on June 16, 2017. Born in 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, she was daughter of the late Frederick and Philomena (nee DeLeo) Genovese.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Sarno; loving mother of Joseph F. Sarno, Jr., Edward Sarno (Marilyn), Karen (John) Schiagel), Steven E. Sarno (Lois) and Monica Sarno; also survived by five grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Frederick Genovese.

Rosalie was a 1940 graduate and class president of the South Philly High School for Girls. She attended mass in her early years at St Laurence Church in Highland Park, Upper Darby PA where she was a den mother in the 1950’s. Later in life attending mass at Sacred Heart Church, Manoa, PA and St. Pius X Church, Broomall, PA where she was a member of the SODALITY society of Mary since 1957. She was very patriotic along with her late husband. She loved cooking and baking breads, cakes and cookies for her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-9:50 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery Springfield, PA.
