Media wins slugfest courtesy Cody’s relief pitching

Andrew Pisani led the way with three RBIs and Joe Marra and Chris Schilling had two RBIs each as the Media Mustangs downed the Delco Tigers, 13-8, in Delco MSBL action Sunday.

In a game where the teams combined for 29 hits, Bill Cody was the difference on the mound as he pitched four solid innings in relief of starter Tim Peacock. Dana Hoffer, PJ Pisani, Kevin Toler, Chris Thomas and Matt Palmer all had one RBI each for the Mustangs. Elsewhere in the Delco MSBL, Barry Blundin struck out nine in going the distance for the Top Lumbers Expos, who improved to 13-1 by beating the Aston Marauders, 14-9.

Steve Smith belted a two-run home run, Brian Stumpf tripled home a pair of baserunners, Anthony Monzo collected four hits and two RBIs and Carlos Law chipped in two hits and a pair of ribbies.

Delco League

Ben Faso pitched six strong innings to help Concord snap a two-game losing streak and get back to the .500 mark.

Faso fanned six and received offensive support from Frank Saviski and Jake Carr. Saviski went 3-for-4 and both players hit home runs for the Canes (8-8).
