NO FRIEND OF MINE

I got a chuckle out of the Times signing me off the other day with “Friend Of A Friend Of A Committeeman.” I’m just an 83-year-old lady who is crippled and I’m not a friend of a committeeman or their friend, but I wish I was.

CHECK OUT THE COSTCO

To the caller looking for the carved turkey: The Costco in Glen Mills has a turkey cooked every day. I believe you could get your carved turkey there. I hope this helps.

NO DOPE FOR ME

I’m so glad Delco was shut out for licenses for marijuana. We don’t need more dopes. GRANDMOM

TAXES OUT OF SIGHT

How is it that Upper Chichester only pays $800 or $900 a year in school taxes and here in Upper Darby we pay $3,300, $3,360, $4,000 and it goes up every year? Can you really explain that to me? Maybe the Upper Darby ought to do like Chichester and start laying off some administrators. Why don’t we check on what we pay so much in taxes in Upper Darby School District? We could use a righteous and honest answer. And it’s time for Mr. Micozzie to step up and tell the school board that he’s not happy with the taxes either.

THANKS FOR NOTHING

Thanks, Chichester School Board, for the small 1 percent raise. It will really going to help us keep our homes. Also, I notice everybody in the school system’s assistant has an assistant. TAXPAYER WHO KNOWS

UP UP AND AWAY

In response to the caller who talking about the taxes in Ridley Township, you are 100 percent right. They keep putting in new fast-food restaurants up and down MacDade Boulevard; that’s not doing anything. They built a new high school and taxes were supposed to go down; they did nothing but go up. I owned two houses in Ridley, and I abandoned Ridley Township. I thought I never would, it but it was time to move. I moved to Delaware – you ought to see what I pay in taxes. By the way, why do they need a highway department bigger than Upper Darby’s? JUST SAYING

DONALD GRUMP

Ever notice that Donald Trump never, never, never smiles? He either puts on a simple little grin, or – most of the time – he makes angry looks and scowls. Are they sure his original family name was “Drumpf” and not “Grump?” I pity this fool, looking angry and stupid all the time. Am I the only one noticing this? JUST ASKING

BILL UNFAIR

“All Talk” is another clueless person that is screaming for HB 76 to be passed now. The bill is not a good bill – period. There’s no discussion. If you would have looked into the bill you would’ve seen it is not a good bill. What our representatives have to do – but they won’t do – is start taxing the rich people and the corporations in our state. Then our property taxes can go down. But you and other ignorant people calling in don’t understand this fact.

MORE HURT ON THE WAY

This stupidity of the middle class was on full display again this week in Georgia by electing a Republican for the open House seat there. Her first priority is to finish the Republican health care bill, which hurts the middle class, hurts the poor, hurts the elderly and gives $800 billion in tax cuts to the top 2 percent. I am totally flabbergasted at the stupidity of the middle class in this country. BOB FROM SHARON HILL

MYSTERY IN PHILLY

What’s the deal with Philadelphia collecting school taxes? Let’s not even look at the issue of the city wage tax and what can be moved from the municipality budget over to the school district. The property taxes on all of the Federal-style row homes in Center City and parts of South Philadelphia should be covering the entire school district. Factor in some of the old brewers’ mansions in parts of North and West Philadelphia and they should have a great district. Of course, this is all presupposes money can fix any problem. Anyway, going by the left’s logical, the Philadelphia school system should be top 10 in the state. YIKES
