To “Up, Up And Away,” I don’t know about the effectiveness of fast food restaurants on MacDade Boulevard easing the tax burden of homeowners in Ridley Township, but they make it much more convenient to grab a cheeseburger when you’re driving across the county. When will the readers of the Daily Times understand basic economics? “Rich Idea” wants to know who’s making all the money at the refineries. The answer is all the employees there who have good, high-paying jobs – they’re making money. And guess what? The people that own stock in those refineries, like senior citizens and pension funds, are making money. Capitalism works. GOT A SPLIT?
In 1985 I bought a TV they gave me split-screen, where I can watch one channel will sound and the other with no sound, and I could switch back and forth. How come I can’t find one today? Does anyone know if they’re still made? If you do, please let me know. Thank you.

What will we do in this country if somebody hacks into our electric power grid> Imagine one day without refrigeration, without cars, without trains, airplanes, transportation, food, the military. Everything is pretty much dependent on this. It would be like going back to the 1800s. I’ve written my legislators about this and haven’t heard anything about it.

I thought the Democratic Party was the party of “when they go low, we go high,” the party that is polite and doesn’t call people names. All I read from Democrats is that Republicans are brainless, that they don’t have a clue, that they’re stupid, that they’re selfish, etc. I happen to believe in environmental regulations and I do support Obamacare, but I feel that Trump has done a good job. “Proud Republican” shows that they’re an ignorant Republican. Higher education has been placed out of the range of the middle class this country thanks to Republicans. All the good paying jobs were shipped overseas thanks to Republicans. So you can be a proud Republican, but to me you’ll always be an ignorant Republican.

Ronald Reagan stepped in and told the air traffic controllers union, “That’s enough, the strike is over, we’ll putting people in your place.” Donald Trump should turn around and say to the insurance companies, “No, you’re not allowed to pull out of the state. You’ve been there all this time making all this money now when they need you the most you need to stay.”

WHAT A FARCE
“Those Dang Hippies” is another clueless reader talking about how the hippies tied people’s hands on nuclear energy. That’s one of the most farcical things I’ve ever heard in my entire life. There is just no reasonable way to take care of the waste from nuclear energy. They’ve been trying to do something about it for decades and they still haven’t come up with a reasonable plan. It’s not because people were tying their hands.
