FOLCROFT » One lucky winner walked out of Delcroft Beverage $1 million richer on Tuesday.

The ticket matched the numbers 07-17-26-28-29 and was sold at the beer and lotto store at 1866 Delmar Drive in the Delcroft Shopping Center.

One employee said visitors are already convinced the location has become “lucky” after selling three jackpot tickets in the last decade.

“A lot of people come in here and hang out, it’s a lot of regulars,” said Delcroft Beverage employee Nora Rash. “We’ll know who it is when the dust settles.”

The last big Cash 5 winner the store sold was in 2013 when they awarded $225,000 in winnings. She said another $1 million winner may have been sold by the previous owner.

Her reaction when the Pennsylvania Lottery called on Wednesday to say they had sold a $1 million ticket: “Wow.”

“I’m happy for the winner,” Rash said. “Everybody who comes in here works really hard and whoever it was I’m sure they deserve it.”

Rash added that the curiosity surrounding the winning is mounting, as she and regulars to the store are trying to deduce who might be holding the golden ticket — “Everyone is very curious,” she said.

“It was a pretty slow day on Tuesday, there weren’t many people who came in,” Rash said. “We’re telling everyone who may have bought a ticket, ‘Go home and check it!’”

Delcroft Beverage will get a $5,000 bonus from the state lottery for selling the winning ticket.
