Conestoga cruises as Klaehn sets pool, team marks

Alina Klaehn establishe­d pool and team records in the 12-and-under girls 50yard breaststro­ke with a time of 38.15 seconds, highlighti­ng Conestoga’s 303-143 victory over Aldan in Saturday’s Delco Swim League B Division meet.

Klaehn added victories in the butterfly and 200 free relay as one of Conestoga’s 11 triple winners, which also included: Leo Mlodziensk­i (14U boys fly, breast, free) Alice Lare (8U girls fly, breast, relay), Oliver Brunner (8U boys fly, breast, relay), Stephen Bernabeo (8U backstroke, free, relay), Mateo Klaehn (10U boys fly, breast, relay), Holly Bevenour (12U girls back, free, relay), Alec Maloney (18U boys back, free, relay), Grace Wakiyama (18U girls breast, fly and relay), Madison Gaffney (18U girls back, free, and relay), and Avery Barber (14U girls fly, back and relay).

The lone triple winner for Aldan was John Shelton in the 12U boys free, breast and relay.

Also in the B Division: RIDLEY TOWNSHIP 267, BROOKHAVEN 198 » Alex Boeckx set the pool record in the 18U boys backstroke with a time of 29.53 while also claiming wins in the individual medley and breast for Ridley. Additional triple winners included Kayleigh Kennedy (12U girls IM, fly, back), Rori Kennedy (8U girls fly, back, free), Hunter Zimmerman (8U boys fly, back, free) and Matt Marinelli (10U boys back, free, relay). Triple winners for Brookhaven were Abby Gowne in the 10U girls back, fly and free, and Keeley Durkin in the 18U girls IM, fly and free. HILLTOP 274, BRIARCLIFF­E 198 » Dash Smith won the 8U boys back, breast and relay, Kyle Given prevailed in 12U boys IM, back and free, Emma Wojnovich touched the wall first in 14U girls IM, back and free, and Jackson Graham captured the 18U boys IM, fly and free for Hilltop. For Briarcliff­e, triple winners included Joshua Travers (10U boys fly, breast, free), Ava Despeaux (12U girls IM, breast, relay) and Rylie Pellegrino (12U girls fly, free, relay).

In the C Division: CREEKSIDE 268, CLIFTON 149 » Triple winners for Creekside included Kate Blackburn in the 12U girls IM, fly, and relay, Jake Plunkett in the 8U boys fly, back and relay, Meridith Seidman in the 10U girls fly, free and relay, and Caitlin McManus 12U girls breast, back and relay. Clifton’s triple winners were Patrick Rankin (18U boys back, free, relay) and Cass Connelly (18U girls fly, breast, back). RIDLEY PARK 243, GLENOLDEN 174 » Tyler Mantash broke the Ridley Park team record in the 10U boys butterfly with a time of 17.25 to go along with victories in the back and breast. Mantash was joined by fellow triple winners Jake Dyer (8U boys butterfly, free, relay), Matt Murdock (12U boys IM, back, free), Caroline Anderson (12U girls back, free, relay), Kerri Drum (14U girls back, free, relay), Michaela Foltz (14U girls IM, back, relay), Eric Tanzosh (14U boys fly, back, breast), and Zachary Anderson (18U boys IM, fly, back). Glenolden’s lone triple winner was Madison Smith in the 18U girls fly, back and relay. RIDDLEWOOD VS. BROOMALL’S LAKE » No score, triple winners or record breakers were reported.

In the A Division: KNOWLTON 242, LAWRENCE PARK 227 » Julia Curran set not one but two Lawrence Park team records. one in the fly with a time of 31.55 and the other in the freestyle with a time of 1:04.08. She also picked up a win in the relay. Allison Stewart posted wins in the 14U girls IM, relay and breast, where she also set a team record finishing in a time of 37.07.

Other triple winners for Lawrence Park included Anna Dymek (10U girls breast, free, relay), Rosa Huffman (12U girls IM, breast, relay), and Laura Seavey (14U girls back, free, relay). Triple winners for Knowlton were Steven Woolery in the 14U boys in the IM, fly and free, Justin Cuevas Riego de Dio in the 10U boys fly, free and relay, and Jackson Meile in the 12U boys fly, free and relay. SPRINGFIEL­D 245, LANSDOWNE 232 » A plethora of records were broken in this meet highlighte­d by Springfiel­d Swim Club’s Colin Christie, who set team and pool records in the 8U boys fly with a time of 17.49 in addition to wins in the free and relay. A 31-year-old record was broken by the Springfiel­d quartet of Benjamin Kutufaris, Tristan Ronayne, Jake Kennedy, and Luke Kennedy in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:52.97.

Springfiel­d triple winners were Alena Chung (12U girls IM, breast, relay), Mary Kubiak (12U girls back, free, relay), Georgia Apostolu (18U girls IM, back, relay), Thomas Murphy (8U boys back, breast, relay), and Nolan Murphy (10U boys fly, free, relay). Triple winners for Lansdowne were Alex Chan in the 12U boys IM, fly and breast, Amanda Thompson 14U girls fly, back, and free, Velina Diguey in the 10U girls back, breast and free, Jack Booth in the 18U boys fly, back and relay, and Carter Brannigan in the 14U boys fly, free and relay.

Intra-County Swim League

Ivie Enakhimion got things started winning the 8U girls fly, breast and free, and Lia Abantangel­o finished off a dominating team performanc­e with victories in the 18U girls IM, back and relay as Drexel downed Aquatic, 268-168.

Fellow triple winners for Drexel included Ryan Moore (8U boys fly, free, relay), Sammy Mapes (10U girls fly, breast, relay), Maack Rimier (8U boys back, breast, relay), Emmy Enakhimion (10U girls back, free, relay), Jon Harwood (14U boys IM, fly, relay), Dylan Ryan (14U boys back, free, relay) and Sean Angelucci (12U boys breast, free, relay).

Triple winners for Aquatic were Melissa Clements in 12U girls IM, fly and free, Andre Melnikov in 10U boys fly, free and relay, Schuyler Gock in 14U girls in the fly, back and free, and Ryan Schreiber in 18U boys fly, back and free. SPRINGFIEL­D COUNTRY CLUB VS NASSAU » Jacob Johnson set the Springfiel­d Country Club pool and team record in the 10U boys fly with a time of 10.46 in addition to claiming victories in the back and relay. Michael Huegal, who also had a win in the relay, set the pool record in the 12U boys IM (1:18.38) and the team record in the fly (34.70), and Nick Brattani in the 12U boys breast (39.87).

Additional triple winners for Springfiel­d included Brandon Decker (14U boys IM, fly, back), Ryan Smith (18U boys IM, fly, breast), and Tyler Rush (8U boys fly, breast, relay). Triple winners for Nassau were Megan Rowlyk in the 12U girls IM, fly and free, Grace Reagan in the 14U girls IM, free and breast, and Shaina King in the 8U girls fly, back and free. On the Folcroft side, Taylor Rush won the 18U girls IM, fly and free, and Cassidy Joner claimed wins in the 14U girls IM, free and back.
