Sun East FCU holds Student Aid Awareness Month
ASTON » Sun East Federal Credit Union staff recently donned college and university shirts from their alma maters to signify the start of Student Aid Awareness Month at the credit union.
During this special month, Sun East celebrates the educational achievements of its employees and members. For both students and parents, it’s a great time to learn about the financial options available for funding a college education. Or, for those who’ve recently graduated, it’s an opportunity to evaluate whether or not consolidating multiple loans and reducing monthly payments would be a good fit for them.
“Our own workforce is made up of recent college graduates as well as parents who have adult children heading off to college; just as we try to help them understand their financial options, we also want to do the same for other families in our community who face the same challenges,” said Sun East’s Director of Retail Services Barbi Denham.
Sun East recommends that if you or someone you know might be in search of student loan financing or student loan consolidation options, be sure to ask the right questions and pick a reputable lender that offers:
• No origination or application fees
• A variety of repayment terms up to 15 years
• Interest rate discounts for utilizing features like automatic payment transfer
• Cosigner release flexibility
• Easy application options such as online, on the phone, or in a branch with personal assistance
• Decisions that are made locally, not in some corporate office across the country
