Anthony “Tony” Giannopoul­os, 75, of Wallingfor­d, passed away peacefully at home July 10, 2017, after a long battle with colon cancer.

Born in Kagkadi, Greece, he resided in Swarthmore before moving to his late residence 38 years ago.

Tony was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and along with his wife, owned and operated A&G Restaurant in Swarthmore. He previously was a personal chef to the Captain on a cargo ship and had traveled and visited over 200 countries. Tony enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends, but most important was his loving wife, his children and being Papou to his grandchild­ren.

The family was blessed to have such a warm, dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and friend. He will forever be remembered for his huge smile and passion for Greek dancing. We will tell your stories so you are never forgotten and we will miss you dearly. We love you!

Tony was predecease­d by his parents, Haralambos and Eleni Dariou Giannopoul­os and Adonia Giannopoul­os; and his sister, Effie Athanasiou

Survivors: husband of Giota Hartas Giannopoul­os, his wife of 47 years; father of Eleni Giannopoul­os (Vasilis), Antonia Giannopoul­os, Maria Papadopoul­os (Nikos) and Harry Giannopoul­os; brother of Evageleia Magdalini; also, eight grandchild­ren

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 E. Forge Road, Media, PA 19063, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
