Conestoga’s Brunner sets 2 records, wins 3

Oliver Brunner may be young but he’s showing early on the type of success needed to be a sustainabl­e presence for Conestoga.

Brunner set pool records in 8-and-under boys butterfly with a time of 17.57 seconds and the breaststro­ke finishing in 21.64, while also picking up a win in the relay to help Conestoga upend Ridley Township, 249-228, in a Delco Swim League B Division matchup.

Brunner was not the only member of Conestoga with an impressive day as teammate Alec Maloney, who also won the 18U boys freestyle and relay, set a pool record in the backstroke with a time of 25.56, and the quartet of Emma Burke, Sophia Mlodziensk­i, Alina Klaehn and Holly Bevenour set a pool record of their own in the 12U girls relay, finishing in 1:56.92.

Triple winners for Conestoga were Mateo Klaehn (10U boys fly, breast, relay), Alina (12U girls breast, IM), Bevenour (12U girls back, free), Tatum Maloney (14U girls IM, free, relay), and Grace Wakiama (18U girls breast, IM, relay).

Maddie Gordon, who won the 10U girls fly, back, and breast, Rori Kennedy, who took top honors in the 8U girls fly, breast and free, and Eric Boeckx, who claimed victories in the 12U boys IM, back and breast, were the triple winners for Ridley Township.

Also in the B Division: HILLTOP 284, BROOKHAVEN 192 » Hilltop’s Jackson Graham set a team record in the 18U boys fly finishing in 27.75 as well as picking up victories in the IM and relay. Additional triple winners for Hilltop included Kyle Given (12U boys IM, fly, back) and Amelia Wojnovich (8U girls fly, breast, relay).

Despite the loss, Brookhaven’s Emma Atkinson set the team record in the 18U girls back with a time of 30.50 while also claiming wins in the IM and fly. More triple winners for Brookhaven were Ava Socia in the 12U girls fly, back and free, and Nick Fursman in the 14U boys IM, fly and free. BRIARCLIFF­E 256, HILLTOP 207 » Addyson Despeaux was the catalyst for Briarcliff­e setting the team record in the 12U girls fly with a time of 16.06. She had help from triple winning teammates Morgan McGuigan (8U girls breast, free, relay) and Rylie Pellegrino (12U girls IM, breast, free). Triple winners for Hilltop were Mya Fairfax, who won the 14U girls fly, back and free, and Theodore Greiner, who won the 18U boys fly, back and free.

In the C Division: CREEKSIDE 291, GLENOLDEN 148 » Creekside had nine triple winners: Olivia Matys (8U girls back, free, relay), Shelby Seidman (8U girls fly, breast, relay), Jake Plunkett (8U boys fly, back, free), Noah Plunkett (10U boys fly, back, free), Kate Blackburn (12U girls IM, back, relay), Ethan Roberts (12U boys IM, back, relay), Julia Staranowsk­i (14U girls fly, back, relay), Peter Blackburn (14U boys IM, breast, relay), and Andrew Lowman (14U boys back, free, relay).

Triple winners for Glenolden included Madison Street in the 18U girls fly, back and free, Skylar Street in the 18U girls IM, breast and relay, and Hunter Jensen in the 18U boys fly, breast and free. BROOMALL’S LAKE 324, RIDLEY PARK 141 » Riley Viner, who took top honors in the 8U boys fly, back and free, was one of five triple winners for Broomall’s Lake, which also included Ruby Schweum (10U girls fly, back, free), Beppe Tangorra (12U boys IM, fly, free), Sofia Sawine (14U girls fly, free, relay), and Seballa Sawine (14U girls IM, breast, relay). Ridley Park received two triple-winning performanc­es from Caroline Anderson, who claimed victories in the 12U girls IM, back and free, and Julia Frassoni, who won the 18U girls IM, breast and relay. CLIFTON HEIGHTS 182, RIDDLEWOOD 153 » There were four triple winners for Clifton Heights including Patrick Rankin (18U boys IM, back, free), Mia Kerwood (12U girls IM, fly, free), James Gambetta (10U boys breast, free, relay), and Sophia DeMott (10U girls back, breast, relay). Riddlewood’s triple winners were Kayla Battista in the 18U girls IM, fly and back, Joelle Hacik in the 14U boys IM, back and breast, and Jacob Bartowski in the 12U IM, fly and relay.

In the A Division: LANSDOWNE 261, KNOWLTON 208 » Three separate Lansdowne quartets set team and pool records in various relays beginning with Elise Olmstead, Jillian Rhyshek, Ashley Foppa and Velina Diguey in the 10U girls relay finishing in a time of 1:05.27. The other two teams were the 12U boys (Gabe Green, Reilly Shaffer, Luke Olmstead, Alex Chan) finishing in 2:05.71, and the 14U boys (Edward Lyon, Logan De Conti, Donovan Hunt, Carter Branigan) finishing in 1:53.56.

Triple winners for Lansdowne included Olmstead (10U girls fly, free), Diguey (10U girls back, breast), De Conti (12U girls IM, fly), Luke Olmstead (12U boys back, breast, relay), and Branigan, who set pool and team records in the 14U boys fly with a time of 28.36 as well as a team record in the IM finishing in 1:05.60.

Knowlton’s Madison Dickert was the leader for her side as she set a pool record in the 18U girls breast with a time of 35.07 and also picked up wins in the IM and relay. Additional triple winners were Madeline Ott, who took top honors in the 14U girls IM, fly and free, Madison Mason, who won the 18U girls fly, back and free, and Kyle Langan, who claimed victories in the 18U boys fly, back and free. SPRINGFIEL­D SWIM CLUB 274, KARAKUNG 200 » Springfiel­d’s Colin Christie tied the pool record in the 8U boys fly finishing in 19.21 while also picking up wins in the free and relay. Joining Christie as triple winners included Ben Kutufaris (12U boys IM, breast, free), Tommy Ronayne (14U boys IM, fly, breast), Ayva Christie (10U girls fly, breast, relay), Nolan Murphy (10U boys fly, back, free), Katherine Shandley (8U girls back, free, relay), Thomas Murphy (8U boys back, breast, relay), and Abby Lazzari (10U girls back, free, relay).

The two triple winners for Karakung were Matt Phillips in the 18U boys IM, back and free, and Abby Krissinger in the 14U girls fly, back and free.

Intra-County League

Arianna Nickles took top honors in the 8U girls fly, breast and free to get things started and Paige Shaika claimed wins in the 18U girls IM, back and free as Aquatic downed Nassau, 228-204 to win the Gold Division title.

In addition to Nickles and Shaika, more triple winners for Aquatic were Melissa Clements (12U girls IM, fly, back), Rowan Evangelist­a (10U boys fly, back, free), Patrick Myers (8U boys fly, breast, free), and Ryan Schreiber (18U boys fly, back, free). Triple winners for Nassau were Liam Wetlauffer in the 12U boys IM, breast and relay, and Jeff Kessler in the 12U back, free and relay.

Also in the Gold Division: TINICUM 214, FOLCROFT 211 » Tinicum’s Nate Buck won the 8U boys breast, free and relay then his teammates controlled the 12U portion of the meet as Sarah Kerr (12U girls IM, fly, relay), Mason McCoy (12U boys fly, breast, relay) and Neil Quintela (12U boys back, free, relay) as fellow triple winners.

Folcroft lost the meet but won in the number of triple winners as Cassidy Joner (14U girls IM, back, free), Ian Lloyd (14U boys IM, back, free), Taylor Rush (18U girls IM, fly, free), Alex Maiorana (18U boys IM, fly, free), Julia McCauley (10U girls fly, breast, free), Morgan Joner (14U girls fly, breast, relay), and Payton Rush (8U girls back, free, relay).

In the Blue Division: DREXEL 299, PRIMOS-SECANE 139 » Ivie Enakhimion set the Drexel team record in the 8U girls fly with a time of 17.06 while also winning fly and breast.

Drexel had a total of 11 triple winners including Enakhimion which included Ryan Moore (8U boys fly, breast, free), Brendan Frank (12U boys IM, fly, free), Lia Abantangel­o (18U girls IM, back, relay), Mike McCloskey (18U boys IM, back, relay), Tyler Smith (18U boys fly, free, relay), Kacey Berardinel­li (18U girls breast, free, relay), Sammy Mapes (10U girls fly, breast, relay), Emmy Enakhimion (10U girls back, free, relay), Jami Hallinan (14U girls IM, breast, relay), and Brooke Souders (14U girls back, free, relay).

Primos-Secane had two triple winners: Kevyn Daly, who won the 14U boys IM, back and free, and Kylee Herzig, who took top honors in the 12U girls breast, free and relay. SPRINGFIEL­D COUNTRY CLUB 244, PROSPECT PARK 238 » Springfiel­d had two swimmers break records: Michael Huegel, who set the 12U boys IM team and pool record finishing in 1:17.51, and Jacob Johnson, who set the 10U boys free team and pool record with a time of 31.12.

Triple winners for Springfiel­d were Huegel (fly, relay), Johnson (fly, relay), Brandon Decker (14U boys IM, back, breast), Ryan Smith (18U boys fly, breast, relay), Tommy Rush (10U boys back, free, relay), Alexandra Jones (18U girls IM and fly, 14U relay), Elizabeth Jones (14U girls IM, fly, relay), and Laura Jones (14U girls back, free, relay).

Prospect Park had three triple winners in Maryanna Nagle, who won the 10U girls fly, back and breast, Alexa Schwab, who claimed victories in the 12U girls IM, back and breast, and Ava Nagle, who had wins in the 8U girls back, breast and relay.

Suburban Swim League

Swarthmore had four triple winners, including two in the 14U boys portion in Zach Sumner, who won the back, breast and relay, and Andrew Kanter, who took top honors in the free, fly and relay, as they downed Aronimink, 250-248 in a Gold Division meet.

Additional triple winners were Ella Shifflett (12U girls fly, free, relay) and Gavin Shifflett (10U boys fly, free, relay).

Despite the loss, Aronimink’s J.R. Leitz set two team records: one in the 12U boys back (55.84) and free (49.16). Triple winners for Aronimink included Madison Weir (18U girls back, fly, relay), Brian Fitzpatric­k (12U boys back, fly, relay), Evelyn Lombrana (10U girls back, free, relay) and Ciara Julien (10U girls breast, fly, relay).
