Briarcliff­e’s Despeaux adds to her butterfly collection

Perhaps Briarcliff­e Swim Club should rename its girls 10-and-under butterfly record in Addyson Despeaux’s honor. She absolutely owns the event.

For the third week in a row, Despeaux broke the team mark in the butterfly (15.80 seconds) on the way to helping Briarcliff­e claim a 242-229 Delco Swim League B Division win over Brookhaven Saturday.

In addition to her record-setting performanc­e, Despeaux also bested the competitio­n in the breastroke and backstroke. Other triple-winners for Briarcliff­e included Josh Travers (10U butterfly, freestyle, free relay) and Rylie Pellegrino (12U individual medley, freestyle, free relay).

Emma Atkinson of Brookhaven put her name in the Briarcliff­e pool record books in the 18U backstroke and freestyle. She also notched a third win in the breaststro­ke.

Despite the loss, Brookhaven had a slew of triple winners, including Atkinson, MacKenna Dormer (8U breast, free, free relay), Bear Nawn (8U fly, back, free relay), Ava Soscia (12U fly, back, free relay), Jack Durkin (12U IM, fly, free), Jenna Johnson (14U IM, back, free), Nick Fursman (14U IM, fly, free) and Andrew Cerami (18U fly, back, free relay).

In other B Division meets: RIDLEY TOWNSHIP 300, ALDAN 179 » What a day it was for Alex Boeckx.

The Ridley Township 18U swimmer shattered a pair of pool records in the individual medley (52.42) and breaststro­ke (28.48). He was also triumphant in the freestyle event.

Elsewhere for Ridley Township, Mason Beck (18u fly, back, free relay), Marisela Rechner (18U IM, fly, free), Brandon Redkar (14U fly, back, free), Madison Rae (14U fly, back, free), Matthew Marinelli (10U fly, back, free), Hunter Zimmerman (8U fly, back, free), Rori Kennedy (8U fly, breast, free) and Maddie Gordon (10U fly, back, breast) all put forth triple-winning performanc­es.

Grace McBlain, who won the 8U IM, fly and free, was the lone triple winner for Aldan. CONESTOGA 266, HILLTOP 210 » Showing the way for Conestoga were triple winners Oliver Brunner (8U fly, breast, free), Sophia Mlodziensk­i (12U IM, back, free relay), Alina Klaehn (12U fly, breast, free), Avery Barber (14U IM, free, free relay), Kelsey Wakiyama (14U fly, breast, free relay), Leo Mlodziensk­i (14U fly, breast, free), Grace Wakiyama (18U IM, breast, free relay) and Alec Maloney (18U IM, back, free relay).

Conestoga’s Alice Lake set the Hilltop pool record in the 8U butterfly with a time of 19.07.

For Hilltop, Ibby Wareikis (10U breast, free, free relay) and Kyle Given (12U fly, back, free) each won three events.

In A Division action: SPRINGFIEL­D 275, LAWRENCE PARK 195 » En route to winning three events, Springfiel­d’s Colin Christie (8U fly, free, free relay) broke the Lawrence Park pool record in the butterfly with a time of 19.47 seconds.

Other triple winners for Springfiel­d included Alena Chung (12U IM, breast, free relay), Mary Kubiak (12U back, free, free relay), UConn-bound Georgia Apostoli (18U IM, back, free relay), Thomas Murphy (8U back, breast, free relay), Nolan Murphy (10U fly, back, free), Tristan Ronayne (12U IM, back, free relay), Luke Kennedy (12U fly, free, free relay) and Tommy Ronayne (14U IM, fly, breast).

Lawrence Park was paced by triple winners Allison Stewart (14U IM, breast, free relay), Laura Seavey (14U back, free, free relay) and Collin Pettit (18U back, free, free relay). LANSDOWNE 278, KARAKUNG 185 » A pair of pool and team records were broken by Lansdowne’s free relay teams. Reilly Shaffer, Finn Hilliard, Luke Olmstead and Alex Chan set marks in the 12U boys division. The 14U boys record was set by Logan DeConti, Edward Lyon, Donovan Hunt and Carter Branigan.

Pacing Lansdowne to victory were triple winners Hunt (14U breast, free, free relay), Branigan (14U IM, fly, free relay), Valerie Thomason (14U IM, breast, free relay), Velina Diguey (10U fly, breast, free relay) and Jannah Rhyshek (8U back, breast, free).

Sarah Krissinger (12U IM, back, free relay), Abby Krissinger (14U fly, back, free) and Elizabeth Forsyth (18U IM, free, free relay) picked up three wins apiece for Karakung.

In C Division action: CLIFTON HEIGHTS, GLENOLDEN 194 » Girls triple winners for Clifton were Talia Venuti (8U fly, breast, free) and Mia Kerwood (12U IM, fly, breast), while Sebastian Valle took home wins in three events in the boys 12-and-under division (IM, fly, breast).

Despite the setback, Glenolden had a handful of triple-winning performers, including Dylan Charles (8U fly, free, free relay), Richard Stone (8U back, breast, relay), Chloe Hunold (10U back, free, free relay), Rosie Messina (10U back, free, free relay), Madison Smith (18U fly, back, free relay) and Hunter Jensen (18U breast, free, free relay). BROOMALL’S LAKE 285, CREEKSIDE 183 » Leading the way for Broomall’s Lake were triple winners Beppe Tangorra (12U IM, fly, free), Sam Linton (18U fly, back, free relay) and Stephanie Callahan (18U fly, breast, free relay).

Kate Blackburn (12U IM, fly, free) and Noah Plunkett (10U fly, back, free) earned three victories apiece for Creekside.
