Bertie Lee Ritchie

Bertie Lee Ritchie, 92, of Folcroft, PA, died Saturday July 15, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Merry Hill, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and the late Leona (Todd) Thomas, and was one of their 12 children.

She was employed by General Electric for over 25 years as an Instructor. Bertie was very patriotic and was an active member and Chaplin of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Herbert W. Best Post 928, Folsom, PA. Bertie was also a volunteer at the School House Center on the Advisory Council, and could often be found in the kitchen and serving food. Bertie also volunteered with the Home Bound Meals team, and was Treasurer of the Travel Club. She enjoyed reading and watching TV and spending time with her friends and family.

Predeceased by her husband of 25 years Francis A. Ritchie who was a combat veteran of WWII Army Airforce. Her first husband Donald Patrick was also a combat veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy in the south pacific.

Survived by three daughters: Sandra Lee (Robert) London, Nancy Sutherland and Vicki Lynn Patrick, and one son: David T. Patrick (Sandra), and her dear friend Phil Atwood. Bertie has 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, Visitation will be held Saturday, July 29,2017 at 9:00 AM with Memorial service beginning at 10:00 AM at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service, 202 S. Chester Pk, Glenolden, PA. Interment will be private.
