Tinicum’s Horenkamp claims Delco Diving Jr. Girls title

In a crowded diving field, Lily Horenkamp had what it took to pull out a title.

The Tinicum diver tallied 167.65 points to claim the Delco Diving League Junior Girls Division championsh­ip at Ridley Park Swim Club Monday.

Horenkamp narrowly edged the Nassau duo of Paige Knowles and Grace Mnieczniko­wski, who tallied 165.75 and 164.40 points, respective­ly. The Ridley Park pairing of Meaghan Drum (162.40) and Trinite Conover (159.90) wasn’t far behind to take fourth and fifth.

Karakung’s Elena Kirkpatric­k slotted in sixth in 154.20, while Paige Dyer of Ridley Park tallied 152.30 points for seventh. Ridley Township’s Kayleigh Kennedy rounded out the top eight.

Softball

Dave McNamara had two hits and two RBIs, including the game-winning RBI in the sixth inning as Coaches Bar topped Brothers, 5-4, in Game 3 of the best-of-3 quarterfin­al series of the Penn-Del Over 50 League.

Dave Rucci also provided two hits and two RBIs, and Mike Curry added a hit and an RBI as Joe Rivello got the win. Coaches advances to take on Philly 5.0 in the semifinal starting Wednesday.

In the Suburban Women’s Slow Pitch League:

Brooke Lachette doubled twice among her three hits and scored twice as Murray’s drew first blood in the B Division championsh­ip series with an 11-4 win over Dolan’s. Marry Cotton went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and KellyAnne Murtha Cullen got the win for Murray’s.

Baseball

Steve Ciecara drove in two runs and earned the win with four hits allowed and seven strikeouts as Brookhaven downed Ridley Park, 7-3, in the decisive Game 3 of the Delco Juniors final.

Ryan Burton and Steve Lillis added two RBIs each.
