‘Skimmers’ hit Beneficial Bank in Folcroft
FOLCROFT » Police are investigating the use of a skimming device in the automated teller machine at the Beneficial Bank, located at 1862 Delmar Drive. Authorities are aware of two different occasions in which the device was utilized: Saturday, July 1 to Sunday, July 2; and Saturday, July 8 to Sunday, July 9.
According to authorities, 96 accounts were compromised over the four-day period. Subsequently, withdrawals and attempted withdrawals were made all over the tri-county area.
Authorities believe multiple suspects are involved in the scam, and may be part of a larger ring. Surveillance images of suspects have been released and police are asking anyone with information to contact Officer Daniel White at 610-5221300, ext. 880.
