TAYLOR NURSES ROCK

I’d like to thank the nurses at Taylor Emergency Room for making my trip to the ER a pleasant one. Good job, girls — you’re the best nursing staff ever. Thanks again.

WHERE’S ‘JOHNNY?’

I agree with the caller that “Top Cat” and the Roadrunner were good cartoons, but best was “Johnny Quest.” You never see that on TV anymore.

OH, YOU HIPPIES

To the Mariner East 2 protesters: I kind of agree with you protesting over safety, but to shut down construction is kind of hitting below the belt. The middle class depend construction work. All you hippies and office workers could care less about us. I just looked at the pictures and I can see you’re all about.

PEAS IN A POD

Yeah, “Bob from Sharon Hill” and “Mr. Tom and Linwood,” are you two guys really going to continue this until the next election? And frankly, I don’t know about everybody else reading, but I’m tired of it, man. You two got nothing else to talk about? You’re the two most depressing people I’ve ever read in my life.

CHILL, PEOPLE

Maybe “Get Rid Of It” has a point. With all this mudslinging and name calling going on, I think you should stop Sound Off until people cool off. It’s a sad world we’re living in today when people have to resort to belittling others. Everyone has an opinion, and you can express that without hurting each other. By the way, Jodine, you were spot on with last Friday’s column. And get well, John McCain.

THE RIGHT STUFF

I got back to reading the Times after my local convenience store had been remodeled. It’s good to see some conservative points in Sound Off from “Boothwyn” and others. And “Bob From Sharon Hill” should just the facts about Ronald Reagan before he says he was a bad president. Look what he inherited with the inflation rate, and look he did with tax cuts and military buildup. Democrats lie, they want to give your money to everybody else, and tell you what to do. Thank you to the people who still have a brain.

PEOPLE VS. PIPELINE

Is anybody taking bets about the power of the people against the power of money and big business regarding the pipeline, or is this too much of a lost cause to bother?

WATCH OUT

Collingdale has a problem people with cutting through store parking lots to beat the lights at major intersections. They’re going fast and one of these days there is going to a serious accident. It’s every day at rush hour. Could you have an officer there to deal with these people trying to beat the red lights? It’s a death waiting to happen.

HURTING YOURSELF

“How Low They Go” sounds smug. And being a lifelong Republican, you’re not a pseudo-intellectual, you’re a non-intellectual, because you vote against your own self-interest every time you walk into the voting booth and you don’t even realize it.

RICH AND GREEDY

“Hail St. Ronnie” claims that deregulation really helped us. Deregulation does not help anybody except the extremely rich in this country and the people who want to be able to pollute to no end and hurt the people living in this country. But “Hal St. Ronnie” is so clueless, they don’t understand this fact.

BUTT OUT, BLOOMY

I saw another one of those ads touting how the soda tax is benefiting the pre-K kids and how it’s working well, how all these kids are graduating preschool this summer, blah blah blah. Then at the very end, “Paid for by Michael Bloomberg.” Why is the billionaire ex-mayor of New York City running these ads? Oh, because his soda tax initiative in New York City failed, and he still has a stake in some kind of advocacy group pushing for this thing.
