Rose Marie (“Ro”, “Mrs. C”) Capitoli

Rose Marie (“Ro”, “Mrs. C”) Capitoli of Drexel Hill, formerly of Havertown on July 25, 2017.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Capitoli. Beloved Mother of Christopher A. Capitoli (Joan Keller) and Daniel D. Capitoli, Grandmother of Eileen J. Capitoli (Jason Centofanti), GreatGrandmother of Brianna Rose Centofanti.

Rose Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and befriended many though her volunteer work, which included the Cub Scouts and Hilltop Little League.

After raising her own family, she returned to the workforce as a secretary for St. Joseph’s University. Ever the nurturer, she became a surrogate mother for the SJU Biology Department. It was said she put the “function” in the bio department’s “functional syncytium” (love in a close knit family). She was awarded Secretary of the Year in 1987, and was even selected to the Alpha Epsilon Delta international honor society for her distinguished service to the pre-med community. A lifelong caregiver, she rededicated herself to attending to her husband and family after her own retirement. A graduate of Cape May High, she retained a lifelong love of the shore, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation, beginning at 9:00 am on Monday, July 31, 2017, at St. Dorothy’s Church, 4910 Township Line Road, in Drexel Hill, PA, followed by funeral mass at 10:30 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made St Dorothy’s’ Church.
