All-Pro Donald does not report to Rams training camp

IRVINE, CALIF. » All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald has not reported to the Los Angeles Rams’ training camp, and general manager Les Snead says the club will continue negotiatio­ns on a contract extension.

Donald didn’t join his veteran teammates in reporting to UC Irvine on Friday. The fourth-year pro also skipped several weeks of offseason workouts while his agent worked on a new deal that will make him one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

Snead says the Rams weren’t completely surprised that Donald didn’t show up, but were hopeful he would decide to join his teammates and rookie coach Sean McVay.

Donald is one of the best defensive players in football, making the last two All-Pro teams as a disruptive pass-rusher and run-stopper.

Moore becomes 3rd Cowboys DL suspended by NFL

OXNARD » A third Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman will miss the start of the season because of a suspension.

The NFL said Friday that defensive end Damontre’ Moore has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the regular season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Defensive end David Irving and defensive tackle Randy were suspended.

Moore, an offseason addition, worked out with the Cowboys during training camp last year but wasn’t signed then because of concerns over some off-the-field issues.

Broncos lose linebacker Shane Ray for 6 to 8 weeks

ENGLEWOOD, COLO. » Just two days into the Denver Broncos’ training camp, rookie head coach Vance Joseph has lost two key players to wrist injuries.

Linebacker Shane Ray will undergo surgery Saturday to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist a day after running back Devontae Booker underwent surgery to repair a hairline fracture in his left wrist that was misdiagnos­ed for a month as a sprain.

Ray, a first-round pick in 2015, will miss six to eight weeks. The Broncos are hoping to have him back by their third regular-season game, at Buffalo on Sept. 24.

Booker, who is expected to miss six weeks, learned he needed surgery after reporting for his camp physical Wednesday.
