Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs party draws hundreds to Drexelbrook
UPPER DARBY » The Drexelbrook Catering & Special Event Center was popping with excitement Thursday night when Main Line Today magazine hosted its summer “party of the year.” The Best of the Main Line And Western Suburbs event highlighted more than 300 winners of the publication’s annual “best of” search, featuring “the best” of everything from sandwiches, shoes, seamstresses and spas to beer brews, butchers, breakfast burritos and bakeries. Chosen by both critics and magazine readers, the businesses are spotlighted and lauded because “they are doing their best to bring people their best.”
According to a magazine promo, “There are a wealth of businesses nestled in the Main Line and Western Suburb’s 200 square miles. Even the most dedicated foodie or boutique hound can’t keep up with the many goods, services and restaurants that abound. That’s why every year we present our Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs winners to highlight newcomers and mainstays alike, who have caught our eye. While it takes time, effort and years of know-how for our critics to compile this list, this undertaking wouldn’t be possible without our readers, who submitted more than 5,000 votes this year, resulting in our reader’s picks winners.”
The Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs Party on July 27 featured the music of the awardwinning party band, Jellyroll. Hundreds of attendees poured into the event, dressed in dinner-chic fashions, some hitting the dance floor, while others tasted and sipped the offerings of the featured businesses at booths lining the main ballroom floor. There was also a VIP room, offering an exclusive selection of food, drinks and entertainment, for those who were willing to buy a slightly higher priced ticket.
Along with the vendors and fun, a silent auction also took place to benefit Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. Every year, Main Line Today chooses at least one charity that will benefit from the Best Of party. Devereux Pennsylvania, founded on the mission of every individual deserving an opportunity to realize his or her distinct potential, works with more than 3800 children and adults in educational and residential programs, therapeutic foster care, case management and customized employment programs and a variety of community-based health offerings.
This year’s Best Of The Main Line And Western Suburbs party was sponsored by Cozzi Jewelers, Republic Bank, AAA, Tompkins VIST Bank, Philly Voice, Jonathan Scharf Dental, Advanced Staging Productions, Closets By Design, 3D Collision Centers, White Manor Country Club, Drexelbrook, NBC10, and Colonial Genesis.
