Nominations now open for Bonner Hall of Fame
The Bonner Hall of Fame (HOF) Committee is requesting nominations for induction into the Monsignor Bonner HOF’s 2018 Class. Please submit nominations for the HOF (graduates) and the Monsignor Bonner Medal (non-graduates) by Nov. 1. The Gala Awards Dinner is held at the Drexelbrook Center on Saturday evening, Oct. 27, 2018.
Hall of Fame eligibility criteria are:
• All graduates of Monsignor Bonner High School are eligible for election to the Monsignor Bonner HOF 10 years after graduation.
• In order to be considered, the individual should have made a significant contribution to the school, community and/or society in general in areas as diverse as the arts, business, coaching, education, government, law, medicine, military, politics, religion, science, sports and/or other endeavors.
• HOF Committee members are not eligible while on the HOF Committee.
• Nominations do not carry forward from year to year. If a previous nominee who was not elected, they must be resubmitted before this year’s deadline.
Monsignor Bonner Medal eligibility criterion is any nongraduate of Monsignor Bonner, including faculty, parents, and friends of Bonner, who contributed to the betterment of Monsignor Bonner and its students.

Mark calendars for flower show
EAST MARLBOROUGH » Five local garden clubs, members of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania, present a N.G.C. Standard Flower Show titled “Magical Garden” at Longwood Gardens Sept. 23-24. The event is opened 1-6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
The clubs planning the show include Four Seasons Garden Club of Kennett Square, Garden Class of the Woman’s Community Club of Uwchlan, Garden Club of Springfield, Spade and Trowel Club and The Country Gardeners.
The show is staged in the Ballroom at Longwood Gardens. Classes include design, horticulture, artistic crafts and a youth division. All gardeners and floral arrangers are invited to exhibit in the show. It is not necessary to be a member of a garden club to enter. Class entries are limited and should follow the rules in the Handbook for Flower Shows. Hear Chester Children’s Chorus
SWARTHMORE » The Chester Children’s Chorus wraps up a string of summer performances at Swarthmore College’s Lang Music Hall with a 2 p.m. dance performance on Aug. 2.

Haverford concert series continues
HAVERFORD » The third annual Haverford Concert in the Park Summer Series takes place on Wednesdays in different parks around the township. Snacks are available for sale at park concession stands. Guests should bring their own chairs or blankets.
Upcoming concerts for the 2017 summer series are:
• Aug. 23: The Big Jangle (a tribute to Tom Petty) with Grateful Rob — Westgate Hills Pavilion, 1614 Rose Tree Lane, Havertown. Hosted by the Westgate Hills Civic Association
• Aug. 30: Alfred James Band with Avalare Strings — Merwood Park, Wynnefield Lane and Cherry Lane, Havertown. Hosted by the Merwood Civic Association.

The Haverford Concert In The Park Summer Series is produced by Kelly Music for Life, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to improving lives and communities through music. Get pharm cert through CAADC
Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc.’s (CAADC) Pharmacy Technician Training Program is now accepting applications from eligible youth. This program is designed to help out-of-school youth gain the skills needed for a rewarding career including obtaining required certification.
CAADC has partnered with Delaware County Community College for its Pharmacy Technician Training Program which will provide instruction to become a pharmacy technician leading to employment in hospitals and community pharmacies. This program includes Pharmacy Technician Certification and an externship (paid work experience).
There are a limited number of available slots though and applicants must meet the following requirements: Be between the ages of 17 and 24; currently reside in Delaware County; have a high school diploma or equivalent; ready to jump start a new career.
