THANKS FOR LUNCH

I just wanted to express my gratitude to a very kind customer who paid for our lunch with a gift certificate when we at Bertucci’s on Friday. Thank you very, very much. VETERAN AND HIS WIFE

GET IN LINE

You know what? If all the people who say they’re going to go to the Cracker Barrel when it opens in Ridley actually go, the line’s going to be down to Boeing. It’s going to be an incredible sight. SERIOUS ON STEWART AVE.

SOUND OFF FOREVER

I don’t get it, all these people complaining about Sound Off. I really enjoyed reading it every day. Keep up the good work, everybody. JOHN FROM PROSPECT PARK

GOODBYE, JUNE

I see we lost another great voice actress, June Foray. She was a voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel and the other great cartoons that we all grew up on. May she rest in peace. She gave us young generation the greatest of all times during the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s and into the ‘80s even. Rest in peace, Mrs. Foray. She was great and “Rocky and His Friends” was one of my favorite cartoons of all time.

HE GOT HIS

Obamacare is a complete disaster. I know a guy who had to quit his job and go on Medicaid because he couldn’t afford Obamacare. What a disaster. TRUMP 2020

DEBBIE WHO?

I’ve scanned your paper very thoroughly for the last few days and all I see are stories in there about Trump and the problems within the GOP. However, I saw a little or nothing about the Debbie Wasserman Schultz situation. It’s another case of the liberal mainstream media covering up all the problems in the Democratic Party while blasting whatever happens in the GOP on the front page. You know, you people are so blatantly obvious it’s pathetic.

BACK TO NATURE

I see there’s more suits and protests over the pipeline issue in Delaware County. I just wonder: Are these people worried about the pipeline inconveniencing them? Why don’t they give us a real example of their intent and live in a log cabin with no gas, no electricity, no running water, no refrigeration, no car, chop down trees with a stone axe (because you need fossil-fuel energy to make steel), and let it be. Something makes me think this is a “not in my backyard” situation, and that they’re OK with pipelines in Texas, Louisiana, North and South Dakota .

TOO OLD FOR OLDIES

I agree with the other callers about “Elvis & Friends.” First Oldies 98 replaces The Beatles Fab Four at Four with ‘80’s music, then they get rid of “Elvis & Friends.” It’s sad when the oldies station tells you you’re too old for them to be bothered with. 70s GUY

LINE OF CONTENTION

To “Try Customer Service,” why should I have to get in line to get a coupon, then do my shopping, and then get in another line to pay for my groceries? Everyone should be treated equally. Also, no one should have to stand in line a second time when you are directed to customer service after your cashier makes a mistake while checking you out. You made the mistake — you correct it! There is no reason for any customer to stand in more than one line to do grocery shopping. WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE?

BRING IT ON

I’m always up for a good argument, “Mr. T.” I’ve been talking politics since 1960. Why would I stop now – because you don’t like it? Turn the page. MR. TOM IN LINWOOD

FLIP OUT

Regarding the talk about “successful burger flippers, let’s face it, “Sound Offers,” it is what it is. If you want to be able to do what you really want to do with your life and the time to do it, you must make yourself worth something (wages, salary, money, etc.) to somebody (company, investors, customers, etc.). The easiest way to do that in 2017 is to work to get a respected education. That’s the most valued and recognized. So stop complaining.
