Eugene Hamill
Eugene Hamill, 88, of Holmes, Pa., died Sunday, July 30, 2017, in the Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Michael and the late Mary (Hay) Hamill.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Gene lived in the Holmes section of Ridley Township for 61 years, where he was a member of Our Lady of Fatima parish and supported the Ridley Township Republican Party.
He had a long career in the welding industry and had been president of the Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley sections of the American Welding Society. He was a member of American Legion Post 761, Briarcliffe.
Predeceased by his brothers, Hugh, John, Joseph and Alan; and daughter-inlaw, Kim Hamill.
Survived by his wife, Louise (King) Hamill; two daughters, Mary Lou (Tony) Simmons and Katherine (Ed) Celesti; three sons, Eugene (Sheryl) Hamill, Gerald Hamill and John Hamill; two sisters, Margaret Coleman and Anne Hagendorf; 11 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m/ Monday August 7 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, South Avenue, Secane.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be private.
