Joan McCann Maloney Lee L. Merkel Margaret M. Bradley

Joan McCann Maloney, 74, of Milmont Park died August 2, 2017 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Kissane McCann.

Joan was a graduate of John Hallahan High School for Girls, class of 1961 and was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Delaware County Housing Authority. She previously worked for Bell Telephone Company.

Joan was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church where she sang in the choir, was a Eucharistic Minister and was active as a volunteer. Her catholic faith was very important.

Joan was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of AOH. She enjoyed entertaining and being the perfect planner. Joan was proud to have been born and raised in the Devil’s Pocket of South Philly. Most important was her love of her husband, her children, her cherished grandchildren and many friends.

Joan was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Lou Quigley and Thomas McCann and her granddaughter, Emily Rose Kowalski.

Survivors: loving wife of Michael P. Maloney, her husband of 50 years; devoted mother of Mary Beth Kowalski (Robert), Meghan DiGregorio (Joseph), Jennifer M. McGroary (Raymond) and Michael J. Maloney (Megan); sister of Bernadette Cassidy; and cherished grandmother of Joseph, Matthew, Kevin, Hannah, Seamus, Merryn, Sophia and Nolan.

Funeral Mass: 11:30 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA 19033, where friends may call from 9:30-11 AM

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
