Ruth W. Edson (nee Williams)

Ruth W. Edson (nee Williams), age 86, departed this life on August 1, 2017.

Ruth was born on March 22, 1931 in Ridley Park and was raised in Glenolden. She graduated from Glen-Nor High School in 1949. She was married to Robert L. Edson in 1954 and worked as a secretary until becoming a Mom in 1958 when her hardest and most favorite homemaker work began.

Ruth was a loving wife, devoted Mom, wonderful Nana, Sister, Aunt, and great friend to many. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, working on puzzles, baking cookies and banana bread for others, collecting birds especially cardinals, and rooting for the Phillies to name just a few, but her favorite was spending time with family.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert Edson; her children, Paul and Liz Edson, and Judy and Gary Oakland; her grandchildren, Cheri France, Stephanie Oakland and Benjamin Oakland; and also many nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren. We all miss her dearly.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 7th, at 11 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.

There will be a visitation time on Monday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. the funeral home.

Her burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Milmont Park, Pa.
