Dr. Joseph M. Valloti, 93, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Dr. Valloti was the beloved husband of the late Helen T. Valloti, his companion of 52 years. He is survived by daughters Ann Marie (Dennis Brown) and Rosemary (John Best); grandchild­ren Joseph, Chiara (Gerry McShea,) and Laura (Fran Moya); and great-grandchild­ren Greyson and Luca.

Born January 15, 1924, Dr. Valloti was a life-long member of the Chester community. He attended Chester High School and played saxophone in the Nick Mancini and Chester Italian Bands. He served Chester as a family physician for 65 years.

After graduating from Ursinus College and Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Valloti practiced at Chester Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and the Scott Paper Company. In private practice from 1950-2015, Dr. Valloti cared for hundreds of patients – sometimes four generation­s of the same family. He treated patients regardless of finances, took calls at all hours, and made his last house call at age 90. Dr. Valloti was recognized for outstandin­g community service by the Chester NAACP, the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, and Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

He was a collector of art, a friend to artists, and a Trustee of the National Arts Foundation.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 15th at 7:30 PM at the Minshall Shropshire­Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Visitation: Tuesday, August 15th after 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
