William T. Sr. & Erma I. Tyson. William T. Tyson Sr, age 91 passed away on August 11, 2017 and his beloved wife Erma I. Tyson, age 89, died a day later on August 12, 2017 after 74 wonderful years of marriage. Longtime residents of Upper Chichester, PA for 68 years, Erma raised her family and cared for their home as well as working for many years at the Boothwyn Pharmacy and the Boothwyn Wawa while William worked at Sun Oil Co. retiring at the age of 65. William was a veteran of the Army during WWII, he served proudly in the Battle of the Bulge under Patton. Since a young man, he had a passion for mechanics and in his spare time could be found working on cars. Devoted to their faith, they were members of the Reformed Presbyteri­an Church of Boothwyn. Together, William & Erma also belonged to the American Legion Post 951, the Upper Chichester Senior Citizens and the Delco Roamers Motorcycle Club. In their spare time, they enjoyed vacations at their Pocono home. They are survived by 5 children, William T. (Late Kathryn) Tyson, Linda (Don) Tibbitt, Sharon (Joe) Laird, Kim (Tony) Sniechoski and Dawn (Curt) Kremer, 12 grandchild­ren and numerous great grandchild­ren and a late granddaugh­ter, Crissy Tyson. In addition, Erma is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mima Grider Babe and 8 siblings. William is preceded in death by his parents, Rawlings and Mary Whiteman Tyson and survived by 2 siblings, Bud Tyson and Louise Nowak. A common visitation will be held on Friday, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 11:00. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Donations in their memory may be made to the donor’s choice if desired.
