With 20 games left in the Can-Am League season, four home runs from the league record. The Sun Valley graduate and Rockland Boulders outfielder has 27 homers in 80 games, four shy of the mark set in 2005 by Eddie Lantigua. Maloney leads the league by six over Quebec’s Kalian Sams. Maloney, who set the league’s runs scored record of 91 in 2015, is batting .301 with 85 RBIs in 80 games. He went yard in three consecutive games Aug. 5-8 to reignite the chase. His on-base-plus slugging percentage is an astronomical 1.037. The late summer’s trade upheaval brings a raft of promotions in affiliated ball, where Single A could only hold for so long. The Neumann-Goretti product got the call to Double-A Portland Aug. 1; in 10 Eastern League games, the first baseman has eight hits and two homers, batting .229. He’s reaching base at a .372 clip, including eight walks. In 110 games, Ockimey is hitting .271 with 23 doubles, 13 home runs and 66 RBIs.

is similarly on the rise, the Radnor grad getting the call to the White Sox’s Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte after three saves in his last four appearances and a run of nine straight scoreless outings with Double-A Birmingham. Walsh drew a loss Aug. 5 for Charlotte, but he hasn’t allowed a run in four other appearances, covering four innings. The Radnor grad’s opponents’ batting average of .316 is in need of improvement. There’s also a flip side to the promotion coin, as found out. The jump from short-season Class A to Advanced A proved too much for the Bonner & Prendergast grad, but he’s rebounding at Bowling Green, the middle of Tampa’s three Class A affiliates. Haley has 13 hits in 10 games, batting .342. That’s almost half the total he had collected in 42 games with Charlotte in the High-A Florida State League. Haley is reaching base at a .390 clip after just a .269 OBP in Charlotte. A hot summer in the Delco League with eventual champion Aston Valley helped break back into pro ball. The Cardinal O’Hara grad, who spent last year with Bridgeport in the Atlantic League, has reaped immediate dividends for Somerset. He’s 1-0 in four starts, the 31-year-old allowing just one earned run in 17 innings. He struck out 10 in five one-hit innings against Lancaster Aug. 13. He’s got 21 strikeouts against one walk; opponents are hitting just .121 against him. It took about a month for to be activated for his pro debut, but he’s making up for lost time. The Episcopal Academy grad and 25th-round draft pick worked his way into the Arizona League Dodgers’ starting lineup by his fifth appearance. He’s 1-0 with a 0.66 ERA, allowing one run in 13.2 innings. He won his debut July 24 with two scoreless innings. He’s struck out 12 batters.

has found his way into the boxscore often in his young career. The Cardinal O’Hara grad is 2-1 with three saves in 21 innings over 12 games for St. Louis’ State College Spikes in the New YorkPenn League. His ERA had been 1.00 until allowing three earned runs in three innings in a win Aug. 12. He’s quickly cutting a power-pitcher profile — 28 strikeouts (that’s 12 KOs/9) against five walks. Likewise, has settled into the closer’s role

at is another NYPL club, Tampa affiliate Hudson Valley. The rookie out of Villanova has wins in consecutive appearances and four saves in six chances. He totes a 3.91 ERA with three walks (two in one outing Aug. 9) and no homers allowed in 23 innings. He’s allowed two earned runs in six appearances, covering eight innings.

average has climbed steadily, up 26 points since late July with hits in 16 of his last 22 games. The big game was a 2-for-4 day with three RBIs Aug. 5 against Single A Modesto. The Seattle farmhand’s power hasn’t rebounded — he hasn’t homered since July 7 — but he’s got four doubles in eight games. He’s also sporting a .991 fielding percentage in 40 games behind the plate despite 15 passed balls.

Joe DeCarlo’s Kyle McMyne

picked up his fourth win for Triple-A Louisville with three innings of one-run ball Aug. 7. He’s struggled on balance of late, allowing earned runs in eight of 10 games. Forty walks in 62.2 innings isn’t ideal for the 27-year-old Villanova graduate and Cincinnati farmhand.

Andrew Bechtold

continues to rake for the Twins’ rookie league side. He has 10 multi-hit games in 32 outings and a .311 average. He’s compiled a .414 on-base percentage, though he’s been stuck on two home runs since July 17. Bechtold has scored 24 times in 32 games.

picked up his first save Aug. 7 with four outs for St. Louis’ Single-A Peoria Chiefs. His outing five days later was rougher, allowing two runs in two innings for a loss. The Villanova grad’s ERA has peaked up over two for the first time after being under that benchmark most of the summer. Opponents are hitting just .215 against him. As the season goes on, seems to strengthen. The York reliever by way of Penncrest hasn’t allowed a run in 10 appearances covering 10.1 innings. He’s allowed five hits in that time and has struck out at least one batter in his last nine games. His ERA has dropped to 2.53 in 42.2 innings with just 29 hits allowed. Click’s teammate, has been an innings eater. The Carroll grad and former big leaguer is 6-6 in 112.1 innings. He has decisions in each of his last seven starts, posting a 4-3 mark (though losing his last two). He walked six in a 7-2 loss Aug. 11.

has quickly become a fixture in the Lancaster lineup. In 30 games since his release by the Rockies rookie league team, Coronado has 34 hits, a .343 average and 18 RBIs. The 25-year-old infielder has hits in 17 of his last 20 games. Hits have eluded who has just three starts since July 25. He scored against the Phillies Monday night after a walk, but his average has dropped to .210. He’s hitting .210 in 71 games with the Padres after hitting .211 with the Cubs before an April trade. He’s 6-for-30 as a pinch hitter.

continues to struggle in Reading, losing five of last six starts. His control is good; 13 walks against 31 strikeouts. But 13 home runs have plagued his 10 starts. His ERA has ballooned to 6.85 with a 1-6 record. Opponents are hitting .311 against the Haverford College grad. Another Ford is also struggling: for the Arizona League Cubs. He’s 0-2 with a 5.87 ERA, though he’s been starting the last three weeks. Opponents are batting.241 against him, but 15 walks and 18 strikeouts is an unsustainable ratio. Despite a strong rehab assignment, Villanova grad was released by the Giants. The lanky righty had reached Double-A before an injury. He went 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in eight innings in Arizona Rookie League before his release in late July. Havertown native was also released by Washington in the Frontier League. The Malvern Prep and La Salle University grad made 14 appearances, accruing a 5.06 ERA. A tally of 19 walks in 21.1 innings didn’t help.
