TURN OFF

Can people stop pulling halfway out into the street when they’re trying to make a turn against traffic from a side street or parking lot? I know it’s frustrating trying to get a good vantage point, but it won’t do you any good when you can’t turn because someone plowed into the front left of your vehicle. CONCERNED MOTORIST

NOT FOR ELVIS

I can’t believe Elvis is dead for 40 years. He was one of my favorite great entertainer and singer of all times. Now I see at the vigil down in Graceland they want to charge $28.75. Elvis would never, never charge anybody to see that. It is not his fault. You know who to blame? Rich, corporate America. All they care about is money and greed. And if Elvis knew this, he would never allow it. God bless Elvis, forever and ever. He was one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll figures of all time. We all love him.

WHAT A YUK

I agree with “Wanting Maher” that so many farout commentators on the left these days that Bill Maher sometimes seems sensible, but without context I laughed out loud when they opened up their Sound Off with “while Bill Maher still does some obnoxious stuff like mocking a 9-year-old he doesn’t agree with.”

WHAT ABOUT THE ANIMALS?

With the eclipse coming, does anybody know if it will hurt animals’ eyes? Do you have to keep the critters in the house?

A REAL FOSSIL

“Cynical Voter” is not a cynical voter. “Cynical Voter” is a moron. Only a moron at this late date would still prefer to have fossil fuels than clean energy. What kind of person actually would rather have things that make the air dirty, make the water dirty, give people diseases, rather than having clean energy that does none of that? Only a moron.

READING IS BELIEVING

To “Pond Of Mess,” I already agreed with you that they need to clean up the reflecting pool and other public sites in D.C., so no, I don’t have go back down, look at them, and then call in again. Although you calling the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool “the pond in front of the Lincoln Memorial” reminded me of how my older relatives from the West End and Eddystone would talk when I was growing up. Those guys read multiple newspapers a day – in spite of dropping out of school in a lot of cases – and actually comprehended what they were reading. So I guess the similarity stops there.

THE TRUMP FIASCO

“Strictly Business” says that Donald Trump is a micromanager. No, he’s not a micromanager. He’s a megalomaniac and a narcissist. OK? He doesn’t really know what he’s doing. All he does is go off on people because he is inept and incompetent. ONE WHO KNOWS

NEWS IS NEWS

To “Cred Or Crud,” heaven forbid that the Times would have an article on a Delco-based sports franchise being the first in any major league to have its own official tattoo artist. I’m not big on all these all these people getting tatted up and preppy kids looking like they did time in state prison, but it’s still an interesting story. So I don’t think this is like Pia Zadora falling off a golf cart, it’s more like Pia Zadora and her husband tearing down Pickford in Hollywood – whether you approve of it or not, it’s still interesting news.

LONGING FOR JIMMY

“Stand And Deliver” mentions Jimmy Carter botching the Iran hostage situation. All I know is that Jimmy Carter must love having Obama and Trump back-to-back. Compared to those two, he looks like the greatest president in the country’s history. Geez, compared to Obama’s pinko commie friends in Chicago and all these weirdoes hanging around Trump, even Billy Carter looks good.

A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS

The cover story on the Tuesday Times says “pipeline opponents offered advice for emergencies” due to the pipeline going in. How sad is it that we have to have opponents of the pipeline offered advice for emergencies because the people putting the pipeline in can’t be trusted to do it safely? TOTAL DISGRACE IN DELCO

GET GOING!

I’m still waiting on them to impeach Trump. When are they going to impeach him? PUZZLED, IRATE DEMOCR AT
