Widow(er) support group holds luncheon

MEDIA » The sixth annual Media FREEMarket is set for 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Providence Friends Meeting, 105 N. Providence Road.
Guests can bring something, take something, either or both:
• Bring skills and talents by playing a song (acoustic only), giving a massage, reading a poem, juggle, read tarot cards, or challenge other guests with chess skills.
• Bring food, whether savory, sweet or extra eggs from a hens.
• Bring stuff from a cleaning out a house, shed, car, office, basement, garage sale leftovers, or share hand mades.
No goods may be brought after 4 p.m. Do not bring chemicals, TVs, electronics or very large pieces like couches or mattresses.

MY FEST looks for sponsors
UPPER PROVIDENCE » Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania holds its annual MY FEST from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Rose Tree Park, North Providence Road, Media, a community youth festival offering inspiration and featuring behavioral health resources and services for youth.
The event is an opportunity for sponsors and exhibitors to get involved and have an impact. It includes food, live music, performances, art, games and networking with a variety of youth and familybased organizations.
MY FEST is produced by a youth group called MY LIFE (Magellan Youth Leaders Inspiring Future Empowerment). Magellan established this program in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with county partners, to help transform services, programs and systems of care that serve youth and to have a positive impact on those involved. MY LIFE is an empowering leadership group for youth ages 13-23 who have experience with mental health, substance use, foster care and/or juvenile justice-related issues, and who want to use their experience to help other youth.
Sponsorship funds are needed to help cover the venue, tables and tents, food, raffle/door prizes, supplies and promotional materials. MY LIFE is offering exhibitor space to organizations that offer youth and familybased services or resources. There is no charge for exhibitors. However, in-kind contributions for MY FEST attendees (i.e. agency trinkets, raffle prizes, food/beverage) are appreciated. Exhibitor space includes one 6-foot table and two chairs. All exhibitor applications must be submitted by Sept. 1.

See Murtaugh display for August
RADNOR » Danny Murtaugh, a 1935 graduate of Chester High School, played nine years of Major League Baseball, losing two playing seasons to World War II. He managed the Pittsburgh Pirates for 15 years — a span that included 1,115 wins, with World Series victories over the Yankees in 1960 and the Orioles in 1971. He was named manager of the year three times, in 1958, 1960 and 1971.
One of his favorite articles of clothing throughout his managerial career was a black windbreaker. Murtaugh’s 1964 season windbreaker, on loan from his nephew Patrick Newlin, is now on display for the month of August at the Sports Legends of Delaware County museum, 301 Iven Ave., Wayne.
The museum, located in the Radnor Township Building, is open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Firday and 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday. For information, visit www.sportslegendsofdelawarecounty.com
