Telephone town hall on pipeline slated
In response to requests from several local municipal officials, state Sen. Tom Killion, R-9 of Middletown, and state Rep. Chris Quinn, R-168, also of Middletown have scheduled a telephone town hall meeting for 6 p.m., Aug. 29.
An expert panel responsible for oversight and regulation of pipeline projects in Pennsylvania, including representatives from the state Public Utility Commission, Department of Environmental Protection, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and pipeline operators, will answer questions about infrastructure projects in the region.
“There are many agencies and organizations responsible for regulating pipeline projects in Pennsylvania and it is imperative they all are actively engaged in communicating their efforts to residents,” said Quinn. “This forum will give residents the most accurate and detailed information about local projects directly from regulators dealing with these projects on a daily basis.”
The town hall is scheduled to last at least one hour. Many area residents will receive a call at their home inviting them to participate just before the scheduled time. Residents can ensure they receive a call on any number by registering on Killion’s website www. SenatorKillion.com or calling his Brookhaven office at (610) 447-3163.
