Leslie Gerald Albert, Sr., age 78, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at his home.

He was born February 27, 1939 in Woodland to the late Claire and Sarah (Audrey) Albert.

Leslie honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 13 years as a Flight Mechanic including a tour in Vietnam. After his military service, Leslie was employed by Ribiero’s Auto Service as a mechanic for 10 years. Leslie retired from the Chichester School District after many years of service as head custodian. He was an avid motorcycle rider, a model train enthusiast and was very interested in western history.

He is survived by: a daughter, Sharon L. (husband Charles) McGlade of Carlisle; a son, Leslie G. Albert, Jr. of Wilmington, DE; a brother, James (wife Betty) Albert of Columbus, OH; a sister, Joan Ribiero of Delaware County; six grandchild­ren, Eric, Jus- tin, Katelyn, Abby, Zachary and Amber; seven greatgrand­children; his wife of 47 years, Lenora Albert of Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by: three brothers, Norman Richard, Robert and Burke Albert; and a sister, Betty Hinson.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Old Bradford EUB Church, 142 Owens Road, Woodland, PA 16881.

Interment will follow at the adjacent Bradford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Dept. of PA, 4219 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
