Edward (Ed) J. Chupein of Wallingfor­d, Pennsylvan­ia, went home to his Lord on September 2nd, 2017.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Rita Rose (nee Orlando) Chupein and his children, Edward Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Timothy and his wife Lemlem, Thomas, and Joymarie and her husband-to-be Andrew. He was also blessed with seven grandchild­ren, Nicholas, Melanie, Samantha, Sophia, John, Ashton and Jake and a great grandson, August.

Mr. Chupein graduated from West Catholic High School in 1947, served in the United States Navy as an Electricia­ns Mate Third Class aboard the USS Meredith, earned his degree in Electrical Engineerin­g at Drexel University, was a member of the Knights of Columbus De LaSalle and enjoyed a successful career in electrical sales. An accomplish­ed pianist, he also played the banjo, glockenspi­el and accordion with Woodland, South Philadelph­ia and Avalon Stringband­s.

Lastly, but foremost, he was a humble, decent and loving man. The world is a lesser place with his passing.

His funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 7th at 11 am at St. John Chrysostom Church, 917 S. Providence Rd., Wallingfor­d, PA. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm at the Carr Funeral Home, 935 S. Providence Rd., Wallingfor­d, PA, and again on Thursday morning from 10-10:45 am in Church. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfiel­d, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in his memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org are appreciate­d.
