Tackle climate change

- Noel Smyth, Havertown

To the Times: The Delaware County Chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby met with our elected member of congress, Pat Meehan, on August 21st, in his Springfield office. We thanked Congressman Meehan for his continued dialogue on this critical topic and for his support in defeating the Perry Amendment, which would have blocked our military from taking action on climate change.

At this meeting, my Haverford Township Commissioner, Steve D’Emilio, presented a township resolution to Mr. Meehan that stated that climate change is real, it is human caused, and we call on the U.S. Congress to take action.

Climate change is an issue that requires broad-based bi-partisan solutions. Congressman Meehan is one of the newsroom@delcotimes.com 610.622.8885 610.622.8887 early members of the bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus, which is now 52 strong, 26 from each party. Pennsylvania is fortunate to have five members of Congress on this caucus.
