Ridley’s June lands record number of serves
Melanie June served up a bit of volleyball history Saturday morning.
June fired 14 aces, a Ridley single-game program record, in a 3-0 nonleague sweep of St. Hubert.
June added 11 digs as Ridley prevailed by game scores of 25-16, 2512 and 25-12. Angela April contributed 10 kills and seven digs. Maria Brown paired five kills with two blocks, and Jackie Kelly dished 22 assists to go with three aces for the Green Raiders.
Boys Soccer
Ryan Peter scored twice in the second half, helping Radnor overcome a halftime deficit and notch a 2-1 nonleague win over Archbishop Carroll Saturday.
Evan Majercak assisted on one of Peter’s tallies, and Nate Congleton made three saves for Radnor (1-1-1).
Nick Booth tallied for Carroll, which got six saves from Jake Langley.

Brandon Cairy and Colby Schnyder assisted on Arbogast’s tallies. Jack Segool resisted the Jaguars pressure with 13 saves for Sun Valley, while Tyler Davis stopped four shots for the Jags. Field Hockey
Mia Leonhardt recorded a hat trick and dished two assists as Notre Dame romped past West Chester East, 9-0, in a nonleague game Saturday.
Lauren Curran and Riley Maher scored twice each. Tina D’Anjolell dished three assists, while Sarah Jane Quigley handed out two helpers.

Girls Soccer
Kayley Smith notched a hat trick as Ridley notched a 5-0 decision over Bonner & Prendergast Saturday.
Amaya Impriano and Ericka Kitzinger added markers for the Green Raiders (2-2). The defense of Anna Charitonchick, Emily Cooper, Gianna Volpone and Andrea Pezick held the Pandas without a shot on goal.
Kelli Curran made six saves net for Bonner & Prendie.

a goal to lead
Penncrest All-Delco Avery Lederer continued his strong season with a seventh-place finish in the gold race at PTXC9 meet at Kutztown.
Lederer covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 10.46 seconds.
In the boys blue race, Ridley’s Zack Forney took third (16:48.09), while Upper Darby’s Jarnail Dhillon was 16th in 17:42.44.
On the girls side, Taylor Barkdoll of Strath Haven was 13th in the gold race (20:11.64). Ridley’s Jamie Green was 16th in the blue race (21:26.16).
