Colonial plantation brings Civil War

The South invades Pennsylvan­ia again as reenactors provide firearm demonstrat­ions, drills, use of herbs in th 1860s and camp life. Battle are held at noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30. The lecture addresses the following questions: How does the atmosphere (and CO2 in the atmosphere) regulate the temperatur­e of the earth? What is the evidence that climate has changed? How are climate models used to study and understand the climate system? Can climate models explain the observatio­nal record if human-based emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases are included? What if they are not included? What can we expect for future climate trends?

Findell is a scientist with the Geophysica­l Fluid Dynamics Laboratory — a National Oceanic and Atmospheri­c Administra­tion laboratory whose mission is to produce reliable assessment­s of natural climate variabilit­y and change. The event is jointly presented by the Haverford Township Parks and Recreation Department and Haverford Township Environmen­tal Advisory Committee.
