DAN IS THE MAN

I saw a caller give a shout out to the employees at the Acme at State Road and Lansdowne Avenue, and I’d like to add a comment. I have diabetes and use Metformin. I noticed that there were different manufacturers and one specific manufacturer of it works better for me than others. Dan the pharmacist at that Acme goes out of his way to get me to the special manufactured Metformin I need. Kudos to Dan. GRATEFUL CUSTOMER

BANDS OF WINNERS

I’m calling to congratulate the Sun Valley High School Marching Band for their first place finish at the Chichester competition. Mr. Pry just does a fantastic job with all the kids. I also want to congratulate all the other bands that took part. It was a wonderful show and I just think the bands need to get more credit and hopefully the Daily Times can attend some of these shows on some on these Saturday events and give some more credit for these high school bands. They do a great job and the kids put in a lot of time and effort. I know the high school football teams get a lot of ink in the paper so I think it should also be passed on to the bands. CALL THE COPS

Hey “Mr. T,” if you’re seeing that much illegal parking in handicapped spots and you’re that upset, maybe you should call some police stations instead of Sound Off. HELPFUL SUGGESTION

ROBO MAN BAD

While the live customer service people on my cell phone provider’s help line have always been good, the robot guy who directs you to them leaves something to be desired. If he only recognizes what I’m saying 50 percent of the time, it would be nice to have an option to go to a numbered prompt. While I appreciate the robots’ drive and ambition to slowly take our jobs and eventually rule humanity, they shouldn’t run before they can walk. Until their speech recognition artificial intelligence improves, they should stick to factories and police bomb squads. CYNICAL CONSUMER

POOR DELUDED ‘SENIOR’

“Taxed Out Senior” is another person who has been duped by the Republicans from their years of saying that environmental regulations kill jobs. But if “Taxed Out Senior” would look at the studies done, they would realize that they don’t kill jobs. Environmental regulations actually create jobs. But Republicans keep saying that they kill jobs, so people like “Taxed Out Senior” who don’t want to think for themselves believe what Republicans say.

LOWEST OF THE LOW

Does anyone see people park perpendicular to parking lines and take up three or four spaces anymore? Out of all the boorish things you can do in life, I always begrudgingly respected that one – that takes a special kind of open disregard for others. CURIOUS

NEVER BLAME TRUMP

To “Trump’s No Republican,” despite Trump’s lack of ideological conservative leanings, he stood ready to sign several pieces of conservative legislation in the law. The problem was that the Congress couldn’t get out of its own way to send him any. So let’s get all the facts.

THE SELFISH 26 PERCENT

A poll came out recently said that 74 percent of the people in this country think it’s our responsibility to help our allies in a time of need. That means there are 26 percent of people in this country who don’t think it’s our responsibility to help our allies in a time of need. Doubtless, these are all Trump supporters. And these are the same people who will never let a chance pass to tell everybody that our country is the greatest country in the world. While our country is the greatest country in the world, we obviously do have a responsibility to help our allies in a time of need. This just shows the hypocrisy of these people and the selfishness of these people.

But being selfish seems to be a way of life for Republicans.
