Erma DeVore Gillerlain

Erma DeVore Gillerlain, 95 of Aston passed away Tuesday Sept. 19, 2017 in the Little Flower Manor in Darby. She was born Sept. 4, 1922 in Avondale to the late Frank E. & Irene (Stern) DeVore.

Erma was a 1941 graduate of Germantown High School, Proudly served in the US Navy during WW II and worked 30 years in the Rosetree School District. After retirement she liked to travel with her dear friends Jan, Pat and Madge and had the opportunity to visit many places.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Francis Gillerlain; infant Patricia Kerns; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Robert) Bongiorno; Grandsons, Manuel C., III and David J. Sylvia and Matthew (Joanne) Bongiorno; Great grandchildren, Rebecca (McKinley, Sr.) McMenamin, Jonathan and Dylan Sylvia, Aubrey and Lucas Bongiorno; Great great grandson, McKinley McMenamin, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday Sept. 26th from 4 – 5:30 pm at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home 301 Chester Pike, Norwood with her Memorial Service immediately following at 5:30. Interment private.
