PROUD ANTHEM

I was watching the Braves-Phillies game on Sunday, and what a beautiful singer performing “God Bless America” for the game. It was absolutely beautiful – no fancy little notes, no up and down. He sang it like it should be sung. It was just gorgeous and what a pleasure to hear it sung right. HAVERTOWN

SCREAMING MAD

While I agree with “Robo Man Bad” about the voice recognition prompts on helplines. I’ll get into queue for customer service rep fine the first time, get disconnected, then call back and get nothing but “I’m sorry, I could not understand that.” If something only works 50 percent of the time it’s no good. We’re going to lose our voices screaming into the phone like Sam Kinison soon.

PARKING BLUES

To “Lowest Of The Low,” I’m glad you don’t see people taking up parking perpendicular to the lines and taking up a bunch of spaces anymore. Back in the day there was no bigger temptation for getting some misdemeanors on your record then keying up some jerk’s Cadillac or Lincoln who thought he was better than everybody else and could park like that.

TV BLUES

I see where CBS regrets putting on “Madame Secretary” on Sunday night – no ratings. They got stuck with the show and Hillary Clinton didn’t win the presidency. Good for them and their fake news. BOOTHWYN

TOUGH MEDICINE

I applaud Delco’s decision to bring suit against “Big Pharma” for the opioid crisis. It’s about time to corporate America start taking responsibility for their actions, and “Big Pharma” is part of corporate America.

WISE UP

Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid – “One Of Them” says that President Obama was the smartest president we’ve ever had. I guess they only opened their ears in 2007-08 when Chris Matthews and other pawns were shilling for him and his supposed intelligence. If they had listened every time Obama opened his mouth off the prompter during his presidency they’d realize he was no more articulate or intelligent than John Edwards, Howard Dean or every other unremarkable place-holder the Democrats have put up in the late 20 years.

GOING NUCLEAR

“Trump 2020” is such a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal that they think it’s OK to wipe North Korea off the face of the Earth. I mean, what kind of idiotic conscious-less person would say that? And as far as Hillary Clinton selling out our country to the Russians, Donald Trump already did it. Are you such a moron that facts mean nothing to you?

TEAM TRUMP

I would like to know if “Trump 2020” is more than one person or just one person. If it’s one person that’s OK because they’re completely idiotic and that’s acceptable. If “Trump 2020” is more than one person then it gets scary, because there’s a whole bunch of idiots running around out there because everything under the name “Trump 2020” is horribly idiotic and that’s scary.

SHOW THE NUMBERS

“Yes, But How Much?” was a good headline for this Sound Off. I’m aware that all area teachers are paying into their health plans outside of Philadelphia, but I’d like to see some numbers. I have a hard time believing this caller that the contributions of public school teachers are comparable to what the average private sector employee is kicking in.

MONEY PIT

It’s really sad to see how leftist friends in Sound Off become further and further separated from reality with each passing day that Trump is in office. “Poor Deluded ‘Senior’ claims that environmental regulations create jobs. I hate to break it to them, but setting up a handful of bureaucratic positions at the EPA is not creating jobs. That being said, if the EPA would stick to its job of protecting the environment, then I’d say they’re worthwhile positions. If it functions as a club to force private business to submit to the ideological will of an over-reaching executive as it did under the Obama administration, then I’d say those positions are unethical and a tax dollar money pit.
