Board ready to rule on Country Club plans
EDGMONT » Supervisors accommodated developers by continuing the regular September legislative session. But while the late afternoon meeting concluded the public hearing and all testimony on the former Edgmont Country Club project, Supervisor Chairman Ron Gravina said decisions would not be rendered until the Oct. 10 meeting.
Ridgewood Real Estate Partners are the owners and applicant for the site on West Chester Pike, adjacent to Willistown Township, Chester County. Given the expanse of the parcel, considerable attention has been paid to preservation and natural resources.
Ridgewood’s plans call for developing a PRD (Planned Residential Development) with 167 dwellings in a combination of single-family houses and detached townhomes. The natural features and cart paths from the golf course will be incorporated into the overall design for use by residents, in addition to a community-based pool and recreation facility.
In the short conclusion to the public hearing, a requirement of the PRD process, project attorney Howard Brown addressed remaining items, most of which concerned storm water management. Brown said one on-site facility was being redesigned as a rain garden, but that all areas would comply with storm water ordinance.
Supervisors opened the separate hearing of a zoning map amendment and zoning text amendment which will subdivide a parcel along West Chester Pike (in both Edgmont and Willistown), and retains the POC (Planned Office Community) zoning. No development on the site is currently anticipated. No further testimony was added.
The records were closed, and Gravina indicated the board anticipated the decision date.
Initially on agenda, a continuation of the application for Trotters Court in a section of Runnymeade was dropped at the request of the developers, GMH Capital Partners, LLC. The 28 units in three clusters of six and two clusters of five will be considered at a future meeting.
No one from the public attended the meeting.
