RIDLEY PARK » The Eighth Annual Main Streets of Ridley Park Fall Festival is set to take over the center of the borough 1-6 p.m. Sun., Oct. 8. This year, the event will have over sixty craft vendors, food trucks, local catering vendors, exhibits and vendor booths of many non-profits and community groups, and continuous entertainment.

“This year’s fall festival is bigger and better than ever before,” explained Bob Berger, Ridley Park Borough Council president and Main Streets president. “We are featuring two stages of live entertainment. Stage One will be dedicated to the community and local artists will perform throughout the day. On Stage Two, the Main Stage, three top area bands will perform and house down!”

The Main Stage bands who will bring their popular sound to the festival are Chico’s Vibe, The Rock-n-Rockin’ Road Grill Band, and the Juliano Brothers.

On Stage One, local performers will include the Fireworks Dance Company from 1:15-1:45 p.m.; Brooke Falls from 2-2:30 p.m.; Justin Depaola from 2:45-2:15 p.m.; Kaleigh Bleacher from 3”45-4:15 p.m.; and Charlie Bell from 4:30-5 p.m.

Additional entertainment will be a free puppet show, sponsored by the Friends of Ridley Park Library, at 2:30 p.m. in the Ridley Park Firehouse, 109 Creswell St. The Ridley Park Library will be open from 2-4 p.m. on the day of the festival. “The Pumpkins in the Park Car Show is one of the biggest and best car shows in the bring the area,” Berger stated.

In addition to the food trucks and restaurant and catering vendors, a beer garden will feature Philadelphia’s Own Yards Brewing Company and Eight Oaks Craft Distillery. Stores in the Ridley Park Business District will be open.

“All of the local businesses in down town Ridley Park will be open, showing what small town Delco-style is all about,” said Berger.

Sponsors of this year’s Ridley Park Main Streets Fall Festival include Taylor Community Foundation, Local 98 IBEW, Catania Engineers , Commonwealth Code Enforcement, Petals in the Park, Raffaele and Puppio Law firm, Kearney and Adams Law firm, Verone’s Collision, Crozer Keystone Health System, Wheat Services, Nate McCall’s Service Station, Borough of Ridley Park, Ridley Park Fire Company, and Ridley Park Police Department.

“The Main Streets of Ridley Park is a very small group of hard working community volunteers. I am really proud of the work we do,” Berger said. “We truly appreciate Ridley Park’s residents so we do this as a way to give back. Last year, we held our firstever Winter Festival. This summer marked our seventh year hosting the Ridley Park Farmers Market and this is our eighth year hosting the Fall Fesitval. We think the whole area looks forward to these annual traditions. We hope everyone will come out Oct. 8, enjoy the Festival on a beautiful fall day, and see why Ridley Park is one of the best crown jewels of Delco.”
