Chi Army, Navy siblings honored with county Tribute Board ceremony
MEDIA » Delaware County Council honored U.S. Army Private Cameron Lumley and his sister U.S. Navy Seaman Rebecca Lumley by having their family place their photograph on the Armed Services Tribute Board during a ceremony on Sep. 27. Council welcomed their parents, Paul and Jayne Lumley of Boothwyn to the Government Center to post their children’s photos on the Armed Services Tribute Board displayed in the lobby.
U.S. Army Pfc. Cameron Lumley grew up in Boothwyn and is a 2015 graduate of Chichester High School. Lumley completed his infantry school training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
At a ceremony in he received the August coveted blue cord. He also completed his job training as a mortarman. He is currently a junior at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania.
U.S. Navy Seaman Rebecca Lumley also grew up in Boothwyn and is a 2010 graduate of Chichester High School. After finishing her basic training at Great Lakes, Illinois, Lumley traveled to Fort Sam in Houston, Texas. There she graduated third in her class to become a Navy Corpsman. She recently
received an accommodation for finishing first in C School where she is training to be a surgical technician.
The Armed Services Tribute Board recognizes Delaware County’s courageous men and women who are actively serving in the military. It offers an opportunity for residents and County employees to recognize members of the military and to write to them to show support.
Delaware County residents who have family members actively serving in the military are invited to submit a 4x6 color photograph of the individual, along with the soldier’s name, town of residency and their official military address to The Public Relations Department, Room 226A, Delaware County
