Ellen C. Collins (Barton), 75, of Ridley Park died September 22, 2017 at Naaman’s Creek Country Manor. Born in Upland, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Catherine T. Barton and resided in Woodlyn before moving to her late residence 56 years ago.

“Ella” was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1959. She was employed in Code Enforcemen­t at Ridley Township and previously worked at Catania Agency. Ella was a member of the Church of St. Madeline and the St. Madeline’s Sodality. She was a volunteer for the local Republican Party and former Judge of Election. Ella was a seamstress, who loved sewing and arts & crafts. She enjoyed making clothes for her children and teaching sewing for Ridley Township Night School. Ella also taught her Brownie Troop how to sew their patches on their uniforms. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, was a “Nan” to many and most important to Ella was her family.

Ella was predecease­d by her husband, Michael H. Collins, who died in January 1994.

Survivors: mother of Robert Collins, Sr., Mary Jo Mensack and Bridget Collins; sister of Mary B. McKeller; also, two grandchild­ren and three great grandchild­ren

Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call from 9:15-10:15 AM Burial private. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Lower Merion, PA 19004
