Cairy’s hat trick powers Sun Valley’s rout of Chi

Joey Cairy erupted for three goals and one assist and Jack Segool got the clean sheet as Sun Valley rolled to a 7-0 win over Chichester in nonleague soccer Saturday.

Zach Montgomery tallied two goals, Evan Roland and Lucy Gutierrez one each for the Vanguards (4-7-1).

Ian Roland contribute­d four assists and goalie Jack Segool stopped seven shots to get his second shutout of the season. Erin Cutcliff and Lexi Chiarlone scored to rally Springfiel­d to a 2-1 triumph over Avon Grove in nonleague action.

All of the scoring came in the first half, Jamie Perkins netting a goal to give Avon Grove the early lead.

Cutcliff headed home a corner kick from Olivia Little to knot the score, and Lexi Chiarlone tallied from 25 yards on a pass from Erin Gormley for the winner.

Goalie Shannon Cutcliff recorded 10 saves for the Cougars (7-3-1).

Danielle Santora scored two goals, including the winner as Sacred Heart Academy defeated stubborn Springfiel­d, 4-2, in nonleague action.

Marylauren Franz and Santora scored to stake the Lions (6-6) to a 2-0 lead.

The Cougars tied the match on goals from Michaela Travers and Arden Turner but Santora and Hannah Seifried answered with goals for the Lions.

Seifried added two assists, Julia Flood one. KENNETT 7, INTERBORO 0 » Sydney Thureen and Stephanie Oleykowski (one assist) tallied two goals apiece to lead Kennett to the win.

Goalie Sophia Harley recorded 16 saves for the Buccaneers, aided by defenders Lily Bonner, Kayla Munger and Maddy Munger.
