One shot, one hurt in ‘drug deal gone bad’

UPPER DARBY » A 17-year-old township youth was shot twice in his back, and a 19-yearold township man was pistol-whipped during what detectives are investigat­ing as a “drug deal gone bad,” but neither victim is cooperatin­g, Police Superinten­dent Michael Chitwood said Friday.

While township police responded to the 200 block of North Wycombe Avenue for a report of a shooting about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, the 17-year-old male was found by police in the 200 block of Coverly Road, and the 19-year-old was walking when he was found bleeding from his head and face by police as the call.
