Hi, I’m not calling to complain or thank anybody for paying for my breakfast – I just wanted to say that whoever writes the little headlines in Sound Off is hysterical. I love the headlines, they’re so funny. GRATEFUL READER
HUNTING HUMANS, MAYBE
To the callers talking about most illogical progun control ranting from the left: While the flawed readings of the Second Amendment are up there, my favorite is still the term “assault rifle” and claiming that AR-15s are “only good for killing other human beings.” A quick check of hunting rifle sales and outdoor magazines would dispel the notion that the AR-15 can’t be used for hunting, but I guess you can’t let the facts get in the way of a good narrative.

I’d like to give a big thank you to the crossing guard at Shadeland and Huey avenues in Drexel Hill by Holy Child Academy. He always stops traffic so my wife and I can continue running along across Shadeland Avenue during our morning runs. Thank you very much. RG IN DH
VOTE GOP, CUT YOUR PAY
I heard all the foreign cars that are made in America are made down South and I heard it’s low pay and poor benefits. They’re mostly all Republican states down and that’s the Republican way – low wages and no benefits for the working man and the poor. And the stupid Republican voters down there put up with that.
GUNNING FOR JODINE
After reading Jodine Mayberry’s column last week on gun control, I’ve got to say that it was the most irrationally biased piece I’ve ever read in the Times – she blames everything on the past and on the Republicans with nothing to back it up. Tell you what – you can take away my gun if you take away her column. JUST ASKING
WARM AND FUZZY
To “We Need Coats,” I believe Operation Warm is the big charity for getting coats to children who need them and that they do work in Delaware County. Sorry I don’t have more information than that but hopefully it’s a start in the right direction.

PITY POOR MEDIA
I was born and raised in Media. It was a great little town. Everybody knew everybody and everybody was mostly related. I went back to Media and from what I’ve seen, it’s awful. it’s more like a city now than anything – big rich corporate builders are building the heck out of a great town that was a great town at one time. It’s a disgrace what is happening to a great little town. I love Media forever – God bless it.

It’s a disgrace what’s going on nowaways! Why won’t somebody step up and take care of things?
DON’T BLAME THE GUNS
It’s not a party problem, but Jodine Mayberry is using the “Delaware County Democratic News” to print the position that the Republicans are the ones that are to blame for all of the gun problems in this country. She tries to give us the story about the founding fathers – that’s nice, but let’s look at some data. Let’s look at the blue states on the West Coast – California, Washington and Oregon – let’s look at the state of Illinois, let’s look at the state of Vermont where Bernie Sanders is from. If guns are so easy to control, why haven’t they done eliminated all the guns? Why didn’t the Democrats control them when they had full control when Clinton first took office and when Obama first took office? The answer is because enough people were smart enough to know the guns did not kill any of these people, it was an idiot responsible for the crime that did. TOM FROM MORTON
